Games are too short

I returned from CS:GO and started playing League again after a month, but after playing a few matches it's starting to feel like a waste of time.

If you saw my latest 6 matches, you can tell none of my games have even reached the 25 minute mark. Ever since I returned to League I haven't been able to reach the enemy's nexus, let alone their base (except 1 out of those 6 games, but that's only a mid inhibitor). All the games I won and lost have been due to surrenders, and it makes sense because every game consists of a total score of 40 vs. 20 or 50 vs 15. It's a total stompfest and "winning" doesn't even feel like a win.

Short games can be good, but at least let me reach the nexus! Why is this happening?

Games will take longer when the players become better at playing at a disadvantage (preventing a snowball from getting bigger). Low elo/level players are pretty susceptible to losing because they don't know how to not feed a very powerful opponent, which makes the match heavily skewed one way or the other more often.

At least that's my impression of it. My games take much longer than that, and I attribute it to handling a disadvantage better.

The mastery and item changes have increased damage so much while minions now gain damage after objectives are taken. Snowballing is completely out of control and towers do no damage and go down like squishies.
