Champion Update: Shen Coming alongside Jhin?!?!?
Well this is different, Riot is releasing the Shen update immediately following Jhin's reveal. What do you all think of the new Eye of Twilight?

This is actually one of the best reworks they have ever made. His kit fits him both thematically and gameplay-wise and the visuals are great . These crocs though.
People were complaining about Jhin, so Shen ulted in
As a newly declared jungle/support main, I hope he can be jungled (I mean, any champ can be; he has a lot of lane-only benefits though, like his shield cooldown). Seems like he can still play support; can't really harass, but a good W can be really, really game changing.
Overall I think he's really cool; I wish you had more control over your blade (Orianna is one of my favorite champions), so I wonder if it's actually worth it to set up good positions for your blade or just use EQ all the time.
So the PBE notes just came up and you probably won't be spamming his E-Q a lot because E costs 180 energy. It passively refunds 30 whenever you strike and enemy champ with E or Q, but that's still not something you'll use frequently.
whaaaaat. That sucks. A lot. Hope they're just being over cautious and will reel it back
EDIT: He has 400 energy now, which makes a little more sense, but still doesn't mean you can use your abilities lightly, since the recharge rate is slower. And it seems like 30 energy on any enemy ("Dealing damage"), not just enemy champions, so it's not too bad. I wonder if they'll actually cap that for the sake of minion waves or something.
Also I just realized his combo (EQW) makes him immune to the damage he would otherwise take from taunting enemies, which is pretty brilliant kit synergy imo
And he also has 400 energy
When I posted first this information wasn't yet available.

Typical Shen. Just can't abandon a squishy.
I don't dislike how he looks mechanically, but I think the sword looks really obtrusive for something you're not micro managing too terribly much. The tether and enormous, floating blade that doesn't do much on it's own just seems extremely awkward.
I think they did a good job keep his theme, but missed the mark in terms of damage.. Shen was never a high damage dealer, but with this update, its even less.
As a Shen main , I'm pretty excited for rework . Despite the low damage , I like being the super taunting tank that no one can kill but i'm not going to lie the new sword worries me a bit . However i haven't played the new Shen yet so i'm hoping it's for the best.
