Since a lot of people dislike Warlords, How about something for casters instead?

I was thinking that maybe warlord's could get replaced by something along the lines of:

Whenever you deal damage with a spell, gain 5-12% movement speed that decays over 2 seconds. Non-single target spells decay over 1 second.

This is basically a modified version of Furor(the boot enchantment) so it could still be used by AD casters and non-burst mages. I figure most people that want more movement speed but have more burst would just take stormraider's. This probably needs some more changes before it's actually balanced, but I think it looks good.

that would just make people stop using Stormraiders ever.

Also, we dont need the DPS mastery to be converted to another caster mastery.

the concept behind the mastery also just doesn't fit the Ferocity tree.

I don't think it would make people stop using Stormraider's -- it takes time to scale into a higher percentage, it doesn't work as well with burst, doesn't last as long, it decays and includes no slow resist.

Warlord's is the sustain mastery. The DPS mastery is Fervor of battle, and warlord's is the main complaint. Also, it's meant to be for AD casters that want to be in the ferocity tree since no other mastery fits very well on them.

Why doesn't the concept fit in the ferocity tree? It rewards aggressiveness and helps in battle.

Most champions using stormraiders use it for the chase it provides in speed boost, not the slow resist. I also don't see why it reqiring no burst is a downside in any capacity. the fact that ti doesn't is the REASON why people would always use t over stormraiders. Even if the boost is smaller, it is more consistent and doesnt have an actuve CD unlike stormraiders .

The champs that like using it will far more appreciate that consistency, as using stormraiders at early levels requires some kind of all in at early as opposed to just using any single target harass to chase. Once midgame roles around, ti pretty much obseletes these champions need for stormraiders as the speedboost becomes substantial enough to invalidate stormraiders'.

the two are just too similar to exist in the same space as is.

Warlords as well as all the Keystones in the ferocity tree are all base don DPS.

  • Warlords gives you sustain on your DPS depending on how Low your HP is.

  • Fervor gives you on-hit AD as you DPS.

  • Deathfire gives you extra magic damage DPS on your spell casts.

The entire concept of your Mastery would actually fit into the Cunning tree, since it provides utility....which makes my point of it overlapping with Stormraiders too much even more apparent.

Also, ADCasters have Deathfire, Fervor to use as well as Thunderlords, and if they have Hard CC, Courage of the Colossus to choose from.

I fail to see how they don't have any masteries that fit them.

even so, Keystones aren't meant for specific classes, but playstyles. No mastery is or should be designed to fit a given class of champions but work on multiple ones depending on what you wanna do with them and how you manna play.

There is no "mage" keystone, nor is there a Marksman keystone or "Support" keystone, tho obviously some lend themselves to others more than some.

Making a keystone to fit a specific class of champs all together would actually warp the balance and ruin the point of masteries, which was to provide diversity and choice, as it would then center the entire class around the mastery as every AD caster would get it, and be too optimized for the class resulting in either it or every ad caster be nerfed to compensate..

Seems way to toxic, and would cause the same issues that Rylai's did before it was nerfed.

AP Damage is already extremely strong, we don't need more reasons for that.

Well, that would completely break Ryze and Cassiopeia (among a great many others).

meh, it was a thought. I thought it would be fine since they would need to trade in damage or a bigger boost of movement speed, especially since it needs to scale o be at full effectiveness.
