You know what would really help your relationship with the community Riot?

Listening to people's suggestions. No, this is not a dynamic/solo q thread. This is not a complaint thread. This is a legit thread showing examples of things Riot seems to ignore.

#Credit given where credit is do, links for each.

The LP loss mercy idea for when the other team is a man down. Clarity on how much damage DoT's will do. Getting rid of the surrender box after the required amount votes no. ARAM should have all champions unlocked to make it random. Preventing newly released champs to be played out of the gate in ranked. Make "first win of the day" daily. Make DeathRecap at least do something right. Ashe's ult visually freezing enemies like Sejuani's. Numerous threads asking to change the names of max mastery rank names. (Urgod, Outrageous, etc.) More champion interactions. (Garen and J4, Jhin, etc.) Added Clarity on inhibitor respawn times.

Most of these are small changes. Some of these aren't even physically changing to gameplay. Riot needs to accept that it is OK to take advice and suggestions from it's playerbase. You don't realize how happy it makes people knowing that their ideas made it into the game.

######If any of you have an extra link to add to this list that a majority of people have supported, feel free to mention it.

About ARAM, Rioter Latency was like:

"yeah we were thinking and trying this idea at the very start of Howling Abyss"

He didn't say why it didn't work. Or simply anything regarding this matter.

"We are under tests for this"

Like 4th year I guess? Still nothing.

"We like this idea"

They like it so much, that they haven't implemented it yet.

They listen to us. They just treat us like little 3 y.o. kids. "we know what's better than you". Think about it yourself. Would you seriously listen to problems of a brat who has hard time saying it's own name? What would you talk about them? How bad and restricting and demanding 10cent is? Or how F2P game income works for Riot?

It's obvious you shouldn't listen to idiots.. Unless you work as shrink. Otherwise: nope.

Btw I found great example about "we (don't) listen you!"

A lot of those are debatable.

Just because someone posts it in the board and a lot of people QQ doesn't make it a good idea.

Weathered6 votes

Debate about it then. Sorry if I sound mean, but I want people to talk about why or why not these work and hopefully get Riot acknowledgement of which would work.

Tobias Brackner8 votes

I already have. All those threads have already been made and I'm pretty sure I've commented about most of them.

If people want to just ignore people saying "that's not a good idea" and then say "the League Community wants these things" then that's on them.

Veigarisgod115 votes

Some suggestions are simply not possible due to the restrictions in game, others are just silly. Riot does not have to listen to the community even though the constantly do.

Vistha Kai23 votes

People like you are the reason this game is such a sad state.

Define "sad state"

The entirety of season 6 maybe?

Veigarisgod17 votes

That's not a good definition. I have enjoyed and disliked parts of season 6.

Keevalroy5 votes

Good enough for me since this game has gone to shit since juggernauts were introduced and worsened over time. Maybe season 7 will actually be fun, but I'm not holding my breath.

For Riot, it just seems like the mouths are saying what the plan is, but the implementation doesn't reflect the idea since the ones pulling the strings have gone off the deep end of insanity.

Veigarisgod18 votes

subjective opinion is not a definition.

DeathToEcchi8 votes

Not to mention the same thing has been said about almost every season at the time. It was even said before the concept of seasons was a thing.

NightmareAmazoX3 votes

Dunno bout you but this season is waaaaay better than 5 because Juggernauts aren't OP anymore and the new champions, New meta from time to time, Makes it fun.

DeathToEcchi1 votes

And it way better than times like the League of Kassadin, League of Gragas, and League of Olaf.

Vistha Kai6 votes

League of Kassadin was the time where only one champion was permabanned at the time and nobody got to play against him. Is it really worse than having a whole class of champions being overtunned and requiring bans to have any kind of diversity in picks?

DeathToEcchi1 votes

Everyone forgets that at the same time Kass was 99% ban rate, there were 5 other champs with extremely high ban rates. I remember Morg being one of them but forget the other 4. There were insta-dodges if the proper 6 champs weren't banned.

Vistha Kai3 votes

Bullshit.

If there were other champions anyhow close to perma-ban status except Kassadin in Season 3, it was the Bronzodia of Malphite, Amumu, Shen and Blitzcrank.

Morgana wasn't being banned until the end of Season 4 when for about a week or two she had 70% banrate.

Saianna2 votes

He's the restriction :D

Kingdom Corn7 votes

Yeah you are right he should not have an opinion, he should be discriminated for having an opinion that does not agree with yours.......

YCitizenSnipsY4 votes

Because these boards have been so much better at balancing. If they do listen to the "community" on game play, it should be challenger players/ pro's and that's it.

Weathered6 votes

Yet they willingly reached out about being concerned about trust within the community. They obviously want to be connected.

Also most of these suggestions aren't silly and are very simple to do.

Warlord Zudane6 votes

Do you not realize that each bit of suggested code they add would complicate the "spaghetti code" that already is in the game? Figure out what you want to whine about, you seriously can't pick everything.

Yea, change the title for Taric! And Urgot, and then why not Garen? And Diana, oh, don't forget Yasuo, and Teemo! And Sion. There's also Ahri, Tristana, Yorick.... So let's make all champions unique instead of just making them by category, let's just remove the category titles for rank 7 and make them all unique.

Surrender after the required amounts of no? Well, isn't it more important to know whether 4 people want to surrender as opposed to 2? That seems like something that could be important to know for a future vote.

Just because it seems good at the surface doesn't make it a good idea. Tons of people have ideas, and majority of them are bad.

Vistha Kai2 votes

Changing the title for one or two champions doesn't mean people only want those two champions to have unique titles. It is just a preludium. Surrender vote could remain visible for those who haven't voted and the results could always show up in the chat or reappear for, say, 5 seconds after the timer ends.

Baron of Bread2 votes

If any of the champs get a unique title, all of them should get it. If you put time between giving out the titles, you are guaranteed to make parts of the community upset for having their favorite champs put off.

Vistha Kai2 votes

Did you actually read my comment?

Baron of Bread1 votes

Yes, apparently I was not clear enough.

If any champions get a unique title at mastery 7, all of them should get it at the same time. It would be a bad decision to have any champions given titles before any others because you are going to aggravate those people who play the other champions since they have to wait.

No use of the "pre-" prefix should be involved.

Vistha Kai1 votes

Champions getting unique Mastery Rank titles was a thing a long time ago.

Those "Outrageous Taric" threads are just ideas for that particular champion, not "I only want Taric to have a unique title".

The code most likely isn't there yet, but the moment it does, every champion would be able to get a title on their own at the same time, because that'd be a matter of copy-pasting it into the code.

Baron of Bread2 votes

If their code can't be there in under an hour then they have either the worst programmers or a labyrinthine code that is also invisible. They just have to change string variables and a few pointers.

Figuring out the champion titles would be where there is slow going. Naming Taric and Urgot is easy, but what about a satisfying name that the entire player base can agree on for Dr. Mundo? Or Varus? Or Galio? Not all champions will be so easy to come up with a title that people can agree on. Look at this thread. While they have a bunch of ideas, most are jokes and few could actually be potentially agreed on.

Weathered2 votes

If the spaghetti code was that touchy and complicated they wouldn't ever make any changes and fully put all their resources into re coding.

Vistha Kai3 votes

They've been "reaching out" to community for at least 3 years now and each and every single time we hear the same "Our communication is bad and we need to improve it" thing.

warpenguin5555 votes

they dont have to take every suggestion, even 1 would be good

Veigarisgod12 votes

they took the yasuo crit on ult suggestion. they are taking the chat filter changes suggestions. that's just the ones i have seen in the past 2 weeks.

AATTRROOXX3 votes

That was a balance decision that affected one champion, it was a good suggestion and I wouldn't be surprised if they thought of it beforehand.

These, on the other hand, are mostly wide affecting changes that affect the play experience.

The others on the list are QoL or additions to content.

Sadly, this is true. We received this forum as a means to talk to Riot and fellow players, but it seems like we're really only left with ourselves here. If a Riot member writes something, it feels like they just express their opinion and never the opinion of the company, reducing the worth of their statements to zero.

For example, I saw a multitude of red post that praised the idea of an April Fool's Skin called "Crazy Cat Lady Yorick", but how big are the actual odds that this idea will become a real thing? Like 1%. This leads to me thinking that no matter what we actually write in here that's supposed to be addressed at Riot just doesn't get through to them. The people that should care about our feedback simply don't.

We're being ignored as a community and that leads to us despising the majority of people that work for Riot. League of Legends is a great game, but why are we being treated like mentally disabled infants? Some ideas that this community has is better than anything Riot had in mind before, but it always seems like they are just too proud to admit that the community might be ahead of them sometimes. When people make great Champion rework concepts, they don't do it so fellow players can nod, approve and go on; they introduce those concepts so Riot listens, considers and changes... but they don't.

It's time that they listen to the community for once, not to themselves. We're the players, we play the game more often than they do because they're the people that WORK on the game, they mostly don't even play it. League is still healthy and ongoing, but the game is taking the same path Team Fortress 2 took a while ago: the team that works on the game is completely taking the wrong priorities on cost of the community.

Actually, a few of those ideas may seem simple, but more likely than not will require a good deal of work on Riot's side to implement for little improvement on the game's overall health. Then again, take this with a grain of salt as I'm only speculating on how things are programmed into the game.

For example, take the Mastery level 7 names. Currently, the system probably just looks at the primary tag of the champion (Fighter, Assassin, etc) and gives each Mastery level the name for that tag. Customizing each champion's mastery level name would mean someone has to 1) think of 130+ names unique to each champion, and 2) implement them one by one. That's quite a bit of work that could be redirected to something more useful, like balance or fixing problems with the new client.

Rank 7 could simply just be changed to the champions already existing title So vaynes would be night hunter Flora would be the grand duelist

I honestly think that it' s a can of worms what you are showing here. Yes, some of these might sound good, but there can be a lot of problems with any of those.

First of all - those who do not like it. it' s easy to get lost on perception of things when you are struck in a point of view, and if you have followers it doe snot mean that everyone else is chill with that. Coupled with that there is people that agree on some things, but want to prioritarize something else... and this is where shit gets real. Why would they make dots more visible when they could make death recap more visible, for example? why not both? why not neither of those so they can do other things? and why they should waste office time to change the level 7 mastery title when they could do these? This is a very painful point because Riot has already strifes inside its office about what to do with the resource and time they have ( like any company has, nothing irregular) - figures if they have to deal with arbitrary fan based suggestions! if they do, they do because they can aggregate it to a job in the works, or if it a very urgent and important thing, or because it can be done way way way way down the road. or because they do it for the lulz as a personal project, if then it' s allowed for them to aggregate it.

Plus they have to make it sustainable. For example, changing the title for mastery 7? do that in english... and then in every other language. and for every upcoming champion and every update, for every language.

I still think the community has to propose stuff, cool things get out of here and there and Riot wants and listens to that ( yes they do, they are not our slaves and sometimes they are too much rooted in their own ideas but they do), but they are also the only one that can manage their own processes and resources. Users and players can' t decide anything about that because they have no insight on that, they simply can' t.

On matter of management, Riot knows best. They can fuck up. We can propose and convince them. Ideas can be traded back and forth. They can be criticized from an user standpoint. But about management itself, i find arrogant that people decide and judge things that are out of their competence.

About the LP loss thing, I personally think this is EASILY abusable. If you get your friend to play on his smurf which he doesn't care about LP on... Then you can simply loose less LP when ever you loose and get the same amount of LP when you win.

TeCoolMage4 votes

smurfing is its own problem :P

UpDownLeftRightAB1 votes

Funny enough, if you give Riot a suggestion and they use it, they now own it and can sell it. It's in the ToS.

TeCoolMage7 votes

people give suggestions to improve the game, not because of 'muh credit u ks me noob'. Just don't give suggestions if you feel some sort of twisted ownership towards advice.

Or patent it. Or sue Riot. It's your money lost in those cases.

UpDownLeftRightAB1 votes

Well, you missed the point. They put in the TOS that yeah, they will take and use your suggestion. You just can't retaliate if they do use it. >.> Cause you can't sue O.o Since they totally have used others ideas to make skins in the past and present.

A Liberal4 votes

Yes because I'm sure the people who want inhib timers, the surrender box to go away, and unique titles for champions are 100% going to try and sue for plagarisim

Yep that makes perfect sense 10/10 👌
