Random idea: What if Arcane Comet left a burn zone on the ground?

Up the AoE a bit and have it leave a burning patch of arcane flames on the ground that hurts anything standing in them. That would give it a pretty distinctive function since it would now afford some degree of zone control. Do you suppose that would be enough to make it a bit more attractive?
