Why are there still CC Targeted gapclosers in this game?

I feel like it is a dumb concept to have such abilities in this game

It doesn't feel rewarding to hit and it annoying to play against as there is nothing you can do to play around it

If a WW ults you, you either use QSS or a support Mikaels you out, or you are as good as dead. You can have Banshees, but hey, no Warwick is going to ult you with a Banshees up. Maokai will probably still Root you tho, as his Q is enough to look someone down.

Same with Maokai top, there is nothing you can do to escape ganks when against a Maokai in the top lane.

He will get close, use his Twisted Advance and lock you down. Combine this with those junglers which you can't really ward against, Lee Sin, Jarvan, etc. and you have no way of getting out.

Before you dare asking, I don't play adcs and I hate playing mages. I mean, I play Draven and Graves here and there, but that's about it. Most of the time you'll find me playing top lane.

I'm fine with champions being able to lock you down from a distance, I feel like Lissandras and Annies are fine, they have to put themselves at risk to do something to you.

But those CC targeted abilities that most of the time have a gapcloser attached to it are both unrewarding and just straightout boring to use AND frustrating to play against.

Anyway

Just some thoughts

Mikaels does not work on suppresion.

But yes, those abilities are pretty toxic.

Most of those sort of abilities have very short durations. WW is also on the table for a rework, so that is likely going away.
