How about we compare Wit's and Maw, shall we?

Wit's will now cost 2800 gold and give you 40% IAS, 40 OnHit damage, 40 MR (65 when stacked), and 25 MR shred.

Maw costs only 450 more gold than Wit's. It grants 55 AD, 10 armor pen, 50 MR, a 300 HP magic shield that scales 1 point per bonus MR, 25% IAS, and 10% lifesteal/spellvamp.

Now, tell me. If you were a champion that likes to auto-attack things and needs some MR which of these items would be more attractive?

(Hint: the correct answer is Maw)

In most cases, Maw is a better choice offensively and defensively. So I say how about we make them cost about the same and use Wit's as the more offensive option?

To that end... the NEW Wit's End.

Builds out of Recurve Bow, the new K Shard component item, a Negatron Cloak, and 780 combine cost. It would grant IAS, magic resist, and the following unique passives.

Passive the first: Your basic attacks deal magic damage OnHit equal to (percentage) of the target's maximum HP Passive the second: Moving and attacking builds Energy. At 100 energy, your next basic attack against an enemy champion will consume the energy to steal 25 magic resist and deal (percentage) of the target's maximum HP in magic damage.

Honestly, I think there is too much % DMG already

The alternative is:

A) Flat damage that scales with level

OR

B) Flat damage that scales with some other stat you have

Magic damage that scales off the target's HP is the easiest solution.

Also: Bork is getting nerfed down to 6% of the target's current HP from 8%.

It should build out of that knife thingy that Rapid Firecannon and Statik Shiv will build out of! Actually, it's basically a combination of of Rapic Firecannon and Statik, so it'd be an ADC tankshredder item (AP BoRK, basically).

When did Maw give life steal?

True if you're a carry or want more atk speed Wits End is worth considering to boost mage resist, especially if you already do some magic damage, but as a bulky alternative and maybe a way to screw over Karthus ult, Maw of malmortius gives a quick Morgana style shield to help you get away and AD as you lose health.

I guess if Wits did more damage more people would get it but its already doing 42 per hit and giving you more shots per second and it would just start to be like Statik Shiv, maybe take your idea and have a cooldown and the next enemy champion hit loses a chunk of resistance and maybe keep refreshing the debuff as long as you can hit them. Disappears if you don't hit them with in 5 second or you get too far in which Wits goes on cooldown.

It's still inconvenient to have to hit your target instead of a passive emergency shield. If you get caught out the shield still works while Wits in the way it is now and how it could be redesigned needs you to get a shot in.

You haven't checked out PBE yet, have you?

Maw is going to get 25% attack speed and 10% steal/vamp when the shield triggers.

Wit's is losing 10% attack speed, having its cost upped, losing 2 OnHit damage, and having its MR bumped up by 10.
