In regards to Placements

So last season I did my first ever placements (season 5) and went 5-5/6-4 (don't remember which) and placed in Silver 4. Through a process of bad teammates and myself not playing well ( i will admit it) I got dropped to Bronze 4. After getting a lot better and finding my main champions I was able to climb up to Bronze 2 and that was where I stopped because of just time restraints and the season restarting. This year I did better in my promos and went 7-3 while having a great KDA through the entire session of placements and low and behold I got sent right back to Bronze 4. This is really frustrating that I do better my second round of placements and I get put a full division lower than my last promos. Can somebody explain to me as to why this is? Even my duo partner who ended last season at Silver 4 and went 7-3 as well in his placements ended up in Bronze 2.

I do not think it is a matter of being "fair" or not. In my opinion, the flaw in the placements (and the ranking system as a whole) is the fact that you are personally being judged for the outcome of which you have 1/10th of am impact on (5 players on each team, and you are 1 of them). Sure, you are responsible for your KDA, but what you are not responsible for is the guy on your team who goes 0/4/0 top lane and feeds their jungle and top in the process, therefor making your 2/0/0 +cs lead as adc not a lead at all. Essentially, you are personally being judged for a "team" based game with 9 other random people in it. Very flawed imo.

Having said that, I do not think there is a fix to this...as this type of ranking system is essential to any MOBA. It is the genre. It is like saying I like RPG's but I hate the leveling up grind, there is no way around it. I think the only way to remedy the issue is to find a group of 4 other people and do premade 5's. That way it is YOUR team and you are all communicating and making decisions together. That way, win or lose, it is your actual team that won or lost and not just some random solo queue team who all play differently and could care less about team synergy and coordination, solely caring about winning their lane and farming kills on the map.

Thats my two cents.
