Just be a good person. It's not that hard.

I have lost so many games because people just can't seem to not flame each other. Like it's not that hard to be a good person! If somebody starts to be toxic to you, just mute them and move on! Literally just be decent human beings instead of Chernobyl.

You don't even have to be a good person.

Just don't be a bad one.

Hey hey hey hey HEEEEEEYYYY!!!

Don't insult Chernobyl like that!

I'll never understand why people prefer to play ranked, be a keyboard warrior, and wonder why they cant climb.

I don't understand why people can't just keep their mouths shut when it comes to teammates' mistakes. They know they made a mistake. And they probably are feeling frustration.

On the other hand, people are so hostile about taking advice. You can say "Riven, ward your lane because Nidalee might drop by." 8 times out of 10 they'll either ignore you or go full hostile on you.

It's almost sad.

I identify as mutated wildlife whose home is Chernobyl.

I know I'll get downvoted, and I deserve it, but it's become harder for me to be a good better person with this game. MOBAs have turned me into a very salty person where if I'm not the best, I should kill myself or stop playing.

I don't know WHY I've become so salty and angry because that had never been the case until the end of Season 4. So while I know I should control my actions and saltiness, it's almost a reflex now and I want to apologise for my insecurities.

Hello all newcomers to the thread.

Who wants to see how many people try to justify being a jerk?

You have no clue what "be a good person" actually means. I hate people that just get on their morale high horse on this.

Just cause they loss their cool does not make them evil or not a good person. All it does is make them a human that lost control for a period of time.

You going on the deep end here and saying you can only be good if you behave in game a certain way is pretty totalitarian. I guess Tencent and you share the same POV.

I want to be a good person, but I've been hurt before so sometimes it's hard to not be bitter.

nintentwins10/13/2016, 12:01:42 AM1 votes

I completely agree 100%!!!

Being a good person can be difficult to some, but in league its super freaking easy!

Step 1. Don't be a douche.

Step 2. Be nice.

Step 3. If someone makes a comment that gets you tilted mute them right away then move on.

Step 4. You have so much higher morale this way, you, and possibly even your team, will play better!

Its so simple it baffles me that so many people can't do it.

If a teammate is sucking, you think flaming them is going to make them play better? OF COURSE NOT! Flaming em will only make their morale lower, and as such play worse. Friendly encouragement will actually bring their morale up, and they might even play better cuz of it.

People really underestimate morale. Its one of the most important factors to not only playing and enjoying this game, but also winning it.

I am Darius.

I identify as Darius.

I'm an otherkin.

This is actually a thing.

You have to respect it.

A lot of the people playing the game that act like assholes are simply kids. They are literally teenagers that do not understand the repercussions of decisions they make in their daily lives, let alone their internet personas.

SchmidttyGames10/11/2016, 10:08:35 PM1 votes

I'm brand new, and I know full well that I suck because I know literally almost nothing. I don't know the champions, I know a little about the roles, I don't know a lot of things. I will always try my best not to make mistakes, and it doesn't help to get crapped on when I make one. I learn nothing other than "try not to do that if you can avoid it" which, in the end, only makes me hesitant and MORE likely to make another mistake.

You were all at this point once. It is true that some people can't take advice or think they are the only good player alive, but not all of us are that way. I want to learn and get better. I want to be a better teammate. I want to be a better player. But the player base is so utterly toxic that even my nearly endless patience is hurting. I need advice and encouragement, not to be reported for feeding for being out of position one time.

You believe you can judge and determine the quality of a human being by how they play a video game?

Niyumi10/11/2016, 11:49:25 PM1 votes

Yeah, be a good person: Don't be vain, and don't identify by silly words or ideas. If someone can talk in a video game and get under your skin, there's an issue there. If you feel the need to deny them doing anything (a ban, etc.), then that's just an eye for an eye, which is not a good thing either.

A good person wouldn't freak the fuck out whenever someone talked bad about them, they'd just kind of ignore it and continue on being nice, instead of being some vain, vengeful little asshat that has a tantrum if someone uses one of the no-no words or says ANYTHING that isn't sickeningly positive about any life choices they make (sexuality being one of those), or what race happened to give birth to them, what place they're from, or anything along those terms.

Now, if we're talking the PC version of a good person full of double standards, sure, go on and preach. But if you're talking an actual good person... I really don't think you know what that is.

Mazariamonti10/12/2016, 4:24:41 PM1 votes

Also, just turn all chat off. There is nothing positive which will come out of speaking with the opposing team while in game.

Little Sebastian10/12/2016, 9:50:42 PM1 votes

Turned off all chat, muted flamers, made it to gold/plat mmr in normals. Just got to start working on ranked.
