Can Darius get his attack speed cripple on his w back?

He's meant to be oppressive and a powerful duelist, and in some matchups hes good at this job....primarily those who have noticeably weak earlygames (such as nasus, any tank). However, with so much burst/poke in the meta, Darius (believe it or not), struggles against this poke/burst. A few seasons ago, Darius used to debuff enemies hit with his empowered auto (his W) with a 50% AS debuff, but was removed as it made him too oppressive. Now, with all the monsters of rivens, jax, etc, Darius really struggles to duel anyone who doesn't have a weak early game.

take a look at this old video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XyIZ0q9DvkY) , in which the developers of LoL describe all champions (by November 2018) briefly. At 9:15, they talk about Darius. They describe him as a badass person, who if you see in lane, kind of have to think "oh i probably won't win lane". That really isn't there with all the other monsters toplane. So please, either nerf the damage toplane (but we all know that won't happen), or give my boi darius ( and some other juggernauts/tanks), some love :c

EDIT: forgot to add in video link oof

The problem is that doesn't do very much against the champions he loses to, while fucking over the champions he already beats even more. You make him more oppressive against Nasus and co., without making him noticeably stronger against Vlad and the like.

My logic is, champions who dont win trades against him won't bother fighting, but will rather instead focus on retreating/disengage. If im early game nasus and Darius hooks me, my first thought isn't "I should punish him!", its "Oh god I hope I survive". Meanwhile, If i hook riven or fiora, their main thoughts are " I wonder how hard I can retaliate?"

No...Their main thoughts are getting the fuck away as well. You're still Darius and they're squishy - you're still going to murder the fuck out of them if they stay next to you.

They just actually have a chance to get away before you drop them to 20%.

And it still does jack shit to them. Fiora's either going to block your stun or your W, and Riven's going to drop a WE on you before you can actually land W.

You're just made it impossible for AS reliant champions to actually fight back, without doing much of anything to his counters (except maybe Vayne, who isn't really a counter to him anyway).

Trust me when I say this, against any champion with mobility, if they have a brain, Darius plays on their terms. As such, one slipup on Darius can cause him to be drastically behind for the entire early-midgame. I think He deserves some form of cushion room when it comes to duels vs high burst.

Either bring the attack speed cripple and remove the slow from his W or leave it. Oh an while we are at it, fix his fucking E hitbox. That fucking shit pulls targets even though it missed giving this braindead bullshit champion 0 counterplay as melee.

I get the frustration, but I wouldn't say he has zero counterplay. I do play a bit of him, so I can tell you a bit of his weaknesses

  1. Biggest one: no mobility whatsoever. He has a little circle to his name, just dont enter it and he cant do anything....meaning hes super susceptable to poke.
  2. One of the most, if not the most lowest attack speeds in the game, which is kinda crucial for his passive.
  3. If he misses his pull early, thats a solid 20 seconds you can harrass him without him retaliating.
  4. Inner circle of his q does less damage than his autoattacks, while not healing or applying a passive stack. Sticking close to him when hes charging it up is a viable strat.
  5. He can't really engage teamfights if the enemy has a brain. Hes counterengage, meaning the enemy can play around him.
  6. His level 1 ult does less damage than his Q, even with 5 stacks. Its more effective for him as a gapcloser as opposed to an actual execute. His ult damage starts to kick in lvl 11.

Theres a few more but those are some big exploitable ones. In lane, some champions straight up struggle, but as the game progresses, he kinda peeters out a bit.
