To The Zed who called my Anivia "No-skill"

BetweenSkill··300 votes·12,539 views

Bro, you flashed ignited me under tower at lvl 2 when I had passive. You dove me over and over again before you even had 6 and I just snowballed you to oblivion.

You raged in allchat saying "fuck this shit", "broken-ass no-skill champions", "done trying to play champs that take skill".

Mate.

I told you to stop going in on me, I told you that would happen because I honestly started to feel bad. Your teammates told you to stop going in, to sit back farm and then roam. Every single one of the other people in that match besides you were telling you exactly what you had to do to stop dying. You're Zed, you can safely infinitely push lane and farm way out of my range and never let me touch you. You didn't die because Anivia is a "broken-ass no-skill champ played by lazy pieces of shit like (me)", you died because you put yourself in harms way.

If you had stayed out of my range and farmed with your w-q you would've won that lane easily and probably would've gotten my tower first. My mana would've just run out.

My Anivia wasn't broken, hell I'm pretty trash most of the time, but you LET me be broken.

Just a PSA to people who may feel a champion is broken or a load of bologna, it's okay to be frustrated. But you don't have to die more than once or twice. Just sit back, farm, wait for ganks, and roam. Don't fight from behind and be surprised when you lose.

The game will be a lot more fun that way, and you'll probably win more too.

Edit: So many downvotes. I don't get you people haha. If I'm wrong tell me why, and it better not be just because "is op"

Second Edit: yes this is in gameplay because I was using the zed story not as a rant, but as an example to make my point.

The Turd Edit: wow didn't expect this to get this big. Add me ingame if you want to be carried straight to peanut IV or talk about the finer points of toast

As witness to the events that had happened (currently the jungler for our team that game), I can confirm that the Zed had overreacted to the situation. Also had fair confirmation from both the opposing jungler and top laner that they had tried to calm Zed down.

This reminds me of the time MasterYi Yasuo and Lucian raged at my Rammus and said he is broken and had no counter play. And all I had to say was "Where are your armor pen items?"

Stars Shaper1 votes

The thing is that Rammus is designed exactly for countering those while Anivia is the one who should suffer Zed.

What? She is a control mage with tools that are more punishing towards people trying to melee her (slow movement of skillshots is less meaningful at short range, she has a lot of burst if you enter her range, her wall works better against people who cannot attack over it) and has a second life to withstand assassination attempts. So, again, why would a melee assassin be particularily strong against her?

Now, Zed also has a lot of strengths against Anivia: He can match her waveclear while not being restricted by a resource, has two ways to cross the ice wall and, as an AD champion, has the sustained damage potential to seriously damage her egg even early on.

Overall, and the data speak to this as well, it is a skill match-up: http://champion.gg/champion/Anivia/Middle

Of course anivia takes no skill. how else could I beat the hell out of a riven with her in lane on my first game as her?

BetweenSkill94 votes

Because Anivia counters the egger-loving crap out of melee mid-laners with no sustain?

Edit: Thanks PDE5 Inhibitors. Eggcellent suggestion

Because Anivia counters the ever-loving crap out of melee mid-laners with no sustain?

annnnd what's popular in mid right now?

Meep Man75 votes

This has no correlation with the amount of skill needed to play the champion.

He's not broken. He has clear counters. Just incredibly toxic to play against. Unfun /=/ unbalanced.

I was going to say Lux who has a higher win rate and is twice as popular as Anivia.

oh her ;-; once she hits a q and she's lv 6 = rekt :)

Apparently she must be strong. I have no idea why people were QQing about Anivia who's damage was virtually unchanged since Nasus's release and not whining about someone twice as popular with a similar win rate.

Actually no, I do know why. Anivia slows down games and snowballing teams. Riot can't have anyone slowing their meta. Lux snowballs a ton.

Spicy Rice1 votes

Its more becuase post 6, she can easily r-e someone for about 500 damage every 6 secs or so

BetweenSkill5 votes

Yes she can, if they didn't build magic resist. you seem to forget how incredibly squishy she is. If you engage PROPERLY you can win trades against her.

Ariel the Cruel12 votes

You must be joking. Building defense on anything but a tank before last item is a waste of gold. That's like asking a Zed to build a Scimitar to deal with Malzahar.

Go read moba fire (or what ever is popular these days) and edumacate yourself on how to properly build every champion, every time!

Passively farming is only in theory. If the enemy is poking you over and over you can't "passively farm" when one more poke and you're dead. But you are right about everything else.

BetweenSkill24 votes

Anvia's only long ranged poke is her q, which is insanely easy to dodge unless you get close enough for her to wall you. Zed's w+q+e combo is longer range and safer than that.

And if you can't farm, you don't waste health, you soak exp. But whatever you do, taking damage and dying is 90% because of something YOU messed up (you as in generally speaking)

Spicy Rice2 votes

Annie's only long range spell is her r. Doesn't stop her from bullying the ever living crap out of alot of midlaners, or stop her from being a bullshit champ

BetweenSkill17 votes

Yeah annie is arguably bs in some cases because of her zero-counterplay aoe stun ult. Im talking about Anivia

Spicy Rice2 votes

I was making an analogy. The same way annie is bs, even with only 1 long range spell, anivia can be as well

BetweenSkill26 votes

But she isn't because her only long range spell is her q, which is the easiest ability in the game to dodge because it moves slower than yorick's rework and you've got to hit it twice to do anything.

Spicy Rice3 votes

The thing is, anivia's q is only needed pre-6, and thats only in order to buff up her e. Once she hits 6, her q is just there to provide some extra cc for her team, as all anivia needs to burst someone is ult-e

BetweenSkill10 votes

She cannot kill someone without her double q-proc into her e. That can 1-shot squishies late game, but if a late game squishy carry is dumb enough to get in range and get hit by it, well that was there mistake.

She's got wings but she's hella slow

Anivia takes time to be learned how to play properly, while Zed can be easily learned how to play him. You don't need skills to learn zed. Darius to doesn't need skill to master him.

BetweenSkill7 votes

It's not even about skill, it's about knowing when to go in and when to sit back.

Only Play Darius18 votes

Zed's kit is more forgiving than Anivia but he still takes skill to play well, just a different set of skills. Whereas Anivia is more positioning, resource management, and situational awareness, Zed is reflexes, speed, and execution. And that's perfectly fine, as long as one isn't declaring their champion takes outright more skill than the other.

Darius is barely above Garen in skill, although twice as obnoxious to play against. The rework did inject some actual decision making into his kit, though.

BetweenSkill13 votes

All champions take skill to master, some just take less to play decently.

Chatillon1 votes

LeBlanc. My brother says she is easy. Riven, my brother says she is easy.

Im just sitting here like:

How do?

Shonjl3 votes

Riven is easy. She has a pathetically easy learning curve, and mastering her basically revolves around a bug, which sure mastering it is hard, but its still a bug nonetheless. Animation cancelling is a bug in the code no matter how you try to word it. So I don't see that as being skillful, that is technically exploiting.

LeBlanc while I hate her with a passion. I know how she is, I grudgingly respect good LBs.

yep, an Irelia and some of the adc's called my precious MonkeyKing a pussychamp.

Irelia can be infuriating to play against. Is she op? no.

Same with Wukong.

Lol? I've played one game with her in like the past two months. if not longer.

BTW using freelo as an argument automatically makes you sound stupid. Make a point and back it up

im diamond no backtalk, thank you for cooperating.

BetweenSkill49 votes

And I like bacon. Anything else that doesn't matter?

Timewinder2 votes

Except it does matter, since diamonds have much better game sense and mechanics than their lower friends. How else would they be in diamond?

BetweenSkill11 votes

If you spend enough time in ranked you WILL go up. I'm Silver 1 but I chose not to play ranked because playing the game mattered more to me than some douche raging at me because he's a smurf. That's nonexistent in any normal I've played. I have a friend who's played ~5k games and can beat any diamond friend we have, but has never played ranked.

You can also get to high-elo's playing just one champ or role and that's it.

As SkyWilliam has said, you may be a great mid/zed, but you're bad at League.

Basically, higher elo's tend to have more knowledge on average, but being high-elo is not a credential. All it means is that you're more likely to.

last thing, if the only thing you have to back yourself up is the fact that you're diamond or whatever, then you've just admitted that you don't know what you're talking about. The most knowledgeable players never have to bring up their Elo

ForgiveColour2 votes

doesnt change the fact that anivia takes no skill and is a free win after she hit 6

BetweenSkill16 votes

Free win? Extremely mana-gated even late game? Extremely slow moving unreliable stun? wonky ass wall?

Free win? I think not.

maybe its because youre bad?
