Garen needs something

Guys i was thinking about garen lately and he isnt in a good position right now.He now seems just like a tank who does a little dmg or like a fighter who does meh dmg.Buffing or nerfing him isnt so much of a choice because balance will always shift but he needs that thing that garen is picked for beeing garen.like darius.hes total oposite and rival, you would pick darius for resets for slaughtering.but in this game if you dont slaughter you are not a good carry. So i was thinking why doesnt he recieve a courage buff everytime he kills a villain.Like when he killed the villain would give hes ally champs a boost of morale or courage or some positive and engaging buff.such as darius implies fear when he slaghters. It would make him viable and it would work with hes image perfectly it would be easy to balance and he would have hes own thing.

Do you guys agree?

As a Garen main, I have to disagree. Garen isn't a hard carry this is true, but he fills the role of a juggernaut quite well. Yes, Darius gets the resets, but Garen isn't about resetting and slaughtering everyone.

In the laning phase, he is about relentlessly pushing and attacking, using his passive to heal up and his silence to get an edge in trades. During teamfights, Garen is supposed to force the enemy to focus on him as the threat of a Garen is often his most powerful aspect. Garen can silence and interrupt channels, Judgement can shred the entire team's armor if they clump together, and most important Garen can obliterate the highest priority target on the enemy team. Yes, the team can peal Garen and kite him, and he won't reach them efficiently himself. But he forced the ADC to target him instead of someone else, he forced tanks to use their CC on him, etc. And if they try to focus on someone else, he punishes them hard.

So, while Garen is not a hard carry himself, he is a serious bully who relieves pressure and makes it easier for his allies to carry. And protecting allies by relentlessly attacking the enemy really fits the heroic knight fantasy imo

what he needs is villainy not to land on the enemy bitchass support, because he happened to lasthit a kill, while the enemy marksman dealt 99% of the damage to that target.

i think to be a fully competitive champion, his villainy passive can give him his own strategic nieche. IF he had full control over it.

one other thing they need to fix is his q animation. it makes garens q the shittiest auto attack reset in the game and hampers it as a play making tool. even a flash engage on an enemy is delayed by half a second thanks to the longass animation. other champions (like riven) dont have to deal with that shit. they just get to do flash knockup or flash stun engages. its also an important point to make him more viable at higher ratings, where animation cancels become more important.

whoever did his visual update back then, and gimped his ability for the new animation deserves a kick in the shins. a visual update shouldnt affect gameplay and effectively nerf a champion. yet, in garens case they somehow managed to do exactly that.

Garen has never ever been in a good position, he alone is like the only champ in all of league that has not made it into a pro game. Although the juggernaut update I think hurt him, I have never found him a viable champ against a decent comp, like how does a garen ever get to a lux lol.

I was playing him recently and slaughtering people, the villain system on him is more important then you might think. I wouldn't recommend engaging with him even though it seems like Garen is kinda built for that with his q and w. It found that its better to wait for your team to engage then charge at the ADC or mid laner or the jungle if they are the villain. Also I recommend grasp on him and for secondary get precision for the tenacity because that combined with merc treads are ridiculous on him.
