Press the Attack isn't Fervor, though. If you paid attention, it was originally released to the PBE as Fervor, but with uncapped stacking. It would cut its stacks in half if you switched targets as the negative. It even had the same bonus of 2 stacks per hit for melee as Fervor did. However, it was reworked not long after as a direct result of Urgot being able to abuse the uncapped stacking, plus his 3.0 attack speed from W that he didn't have to focus on actually attacking people with, to mark someone and end his w with like 30 stacks if they didn't get out of range fast enough. It was reworked to be something that is of more benefit the more damage you deal. I've seen this used well on champions like Fiora, Camille, or Yasuo, and I've also seen it used well on Tristana. Now, it's strong in a way that it doesn't need to give an advantage for melee champions for them to be viable with it. The point is that most of these champions have autoattack resets or abilities that act as autoattacks. Fiora: Q auto E, procced and they're slowed and your next attack is a guaranteed crit with 12% added to its damage. Camille: Auto Q auto, procced and your true damage Q now deals an extra 12%. Yasuo, same thing, and Riven, and every other melee fighter with a way to reset their basic attacks, can all proc it faster than a ranged champion because they get that instant reset. And don't even get me started on adding a Titanic Hydra into the mix for a second reset. The thing about these melee champions is that they don't buy as much attack speed as ADCs because they don't need it. They're more mobile, have more CC, and can easily reset their basic attacks to proc it in under a second, faster than any ADC can.
Earlier today, I played Camille top lane on my PBE account. I ran Press the Attack and bought a Titanic Hydra. If I landed my E on anyone, I would, during the stun, auto them (1 stack) Q (2 stacks) Hydra, auto them again instantly (3 stacks), and all that could be done faster than any ADC can attack without running Lethal Tempo, in which case, they don't get PtA. Yasuo's Q tornado procs a press the attack stack from twice as far away as any ADC can and CCs the target, allowing Yasuo to get on them for the kill. Fiora runs really fast and has a dash on a 2 second cooldown with the reset, that also stacks Press the Attack.
