I literally have 0 games in ranked. Just playing my first one today. I queue up for ADC.
I am matched up against a fucking gold ADC.
My team: Silver1,2,3,4 unranked (me) Their team: Gold5, Silver1,2,2,5
How the hell is this even close to being an even match up?

Keep making gold or not, you're just using it as an excuse as to why you loss. Keep up with that mentality and you'll be Bronze before you know it.

Considering it can take a while to fall down a division, it's quite possible that the Gold 5 had low MMR and just hadn't yet fallen down to their appropriate rank. They may have also been in a pre-made with their team's Silver 5 player.
Even if they were legitimately a Gold 5 player, that still isn't an unfair match-up. The ranks are a little more diverse than they would have been with Solo-Queue, but they are by no means unreasonable.

So, the basic team compositions MMR-wise were:
Your placement matches are generally different than normal ranked matches since the system is trying to identify where you should be placed skill-wise. If you aren't at or above a Silver 4 skill level, you should lose some of the early games and be given a lower placement accordingly.

While everybody has off games, a player who is higher ranked will generally perform better than a player who is lower ranked.
That is simply how the system works.
