Edit: Better yet, have a "mute pings" button next to someone's normal mute button. That way you can still see their pings if they're being a lil flamer, as their pings might be helpful. You can also then mute someone's pings and not them if you desire.

This is just my take on it: Sometimes the person that gets muted still contributes to the team via pings. It was just them talking that bugged me. So if we can get like a separate mute pings button I'd be all for that. Only because it's not always good to mute the pings just because the person is muted. Again, just my personal take on it.

I could actually agree to this too, so if someone pings a little too much, you could mute the pings, but not their text.

Exactly. Or if they're mouthing off too much but pinging smart you can just mute their text. I think that'd be a great solution. How easy it would be to code and put it without error I dunno, but it'd be nice.

I Ward A Lot1 voteswell that probably isn't the best idea due to the fact that you can only ping so many times, and some people are just going to be upset and muting them is the answer, but they still probably have the best intentions to win. Even if they are pinging you 100 times for something it maybe that 100th time that its important. Plus, just remember to report people like this and they will eventually go away. And one last thing, some people play the game without any chat enabled to where you can only communicate with your teammates with pings

There is no defense you could make that will convince me that pings shouldn't be muted when there are people who constantly spam ping you to annoy you or troll you

If they've gotten to 100 pings (and there are people that will do this - just sit there and spam ping you all game long) I'll have already taken off my headphones and started playing with no sound at all. Oh, and I'll also be pointedly ignoring all of their pings.

I thought that at first, and then I realized that even non-spammers ping way more than they should.
I also realized that when I could hear pings, if someone that was verbally abusive pinged me to get a tower that I was already pushing I would leave the tower and go back and shop, or roam to a different lane.
Ping me to back when they are clearly coming and already almost to me, guess I'm going back in.

See, this doesn't even bother me lol. It's just the spam for no reason.

I'm glad this method has worked for you. It isn't ideal for everyone, though, and I really don't see a single negative issue with putting it in.
KENyakky1 votesI second this idea of muting pings. Like regular muting, it is optional only. You don't have to turn it on, and you may not even want to use it. But its there if you need it, and you can always turn it back off if you don't.
