What if Thresh's flay power up charged faster with attack speed for solo lane Thresh?

Just a thought, I know people playing around with top lane Thresh usually go static shiv. What if attack speed changed how fast his autos powered up so he won't be punished for building attack speed and not attacking as often?

I don't think it would affect the power level of support thresh at all and it could make for some fun Thresh laning that's slightly more viable. Just an idea. Thoughts?

YES, YES THANKS. I don't know why they downvote you, it wouldn't hurt (as in make too strong) support Thresh in any way.

Exactly. Support Thresh isn't even in a good spot atm.

I'd love to play some top or mid Thresh. The E passive is just too slow tho if you wanna go damage thresh.

Imagine:

Right now at whatever attack speed Thresh has at base, it takes 8 seconds to charge his E passive.

At double that attack speed, the passive could charge twice as fast and he could have max power autos every 4 seconds. I'm sure they could put a cap on it like Yasuo's Q so that it doesn't get out of hand. In my mind it kind of makes sense that faster attack speed would make him be able to attack faster with his passive lol

Nice arguments.

I remember someone suggesting that he healed from souls and that was one of the more silly things I've seen. He's balanced around supporting, and the way his E scales is based around that - mainly poking. Making it charge faster will mess up his balance as a CC utility machine.

How would this in any way affect support thresh? Supports don't build attack speed lol

It's like giving MF AP ratios so that they can support an alternate playstyle of a champion. I don't even think it'd be particularly good, just would be a fun addition that could help lane thresh function a little more.

They specifically changed how his autoattack animations functioned to discourage him from building attack speed.

This change (along with his AA-range) was made to prevent Thresh from being played in solo-lanes and as an ADC.

Stay in your lane. Supports that go to other lanes are always super obnoxious.

Sincerely, fuck off, we're tired of being underfed and underleveled on kits we like.

Be mad all you want, there's a good reason supports get nerfed to shit when they are viable in other lanes. It's because champs with massive base utility who become capable of laning usually do su by becoming bullshit lane bullies that auto win lanes without real interaction, with the side benifit that you can't shut them down even if you somehow manage to outplay because they will always be useful just for utility. Oh, and they're also strong in mid and late game, so it makes even less sense to allow them to bully lanes.

Shit like lane alistair when he could auto during headbut or midlane janna were the truest forms of cancer. They would press their buttons on you and chunk the shit out of your hp without allowing you to do anything about it because their harass also happened to be crowd control. Camping them didn't do shit because aoe cc tends to be good for deterring dives. Long range poke is also less effective vs champs who are designed to counter two champs poking them at once.

The design that goes into making a champion work in botlane reliably tends to make them inherently stupid to deal with if they are viable in a solo lane.

I prefer to face a viable AP Thresh mid (no AP from souls, decent AP ratios in exchange) than a Zed or a Xerath.

It depends on the lane. If thresh was somehow viable as a mid I doubt people would mind. But let's be real, people wouldn't take him mid where he could maybe have a skillful back and forth match with a mage who could fight back reasonably, they would take him toplane to shit all over melee opponants who could not fight back because he would run away and hook flay box them into his tower if they tried to trade back instead of taking infinite free harass.

Let's not forget the bullshit jungle lantern ganks that would enable stupid tower dives at no risk and invalidate the meaning of wards.
