Why are people still going on about Veigar?

I am a Veigar main. Since the changes, he has been so much better. One thread is saying that base mana regen should go up. I guess they forgot about veigar's passive, and since tear should always be a buy on your first back, mana regen isn't a problem, ESPECIALLY if you have doran's ring and are last hitting well. The only thing that might be beneficial to Veigar now without pushing him into the realm of OP would be reducing the delay of his w, since previously it was balanced around e. maybe a 1 second or .85 second delay or something like that would be great, but the talk of changing his ult to have a higher AP ratio(which I wouldn't complain, but with the increased ap stacking it might push him over the edge) and base damage, while removing the "80% of target's ap" part.

Veigar is an antimage, while being a mage himself. kassadin and galio are anti mages as well, but they have different focuses. Veigar doesn't need to be stronger vs non-mages, he already is pretty strong, and he is meant to burst squishies down. He can still do that vs AD mids. Just because he doesn't get the added bonus of extra damage off of their ap doesn't automatically make the ability weak. He still has a 500 base damage(+100% AP) TARGETED INSTANT NUKE. It even follows them if you have cast it after they have flashed(so many satisfying kills that way). That is nearly considered OP on it's own, especially with potential infinite AP. Why would we increase the ratio and base damage, while removing his anti mage perspective? the 80% of target's AP gives you a very nice nuke even if you are behind, you get a stronger ult the more fed they are.

TL;DR: Please stop complaining about Veigar, he is fine. MAAAYBE reduce delay on w. maybe.

It is because ad mids are becoming extremely popular the last couple of months and he stands little to no chance against Zed Yasuo Talon Riven . They all have crazy mobility, damage, and gap closers while veigar has no escapes. His only minor escape was nerfed with a delay. His win rate has plummeted and his win rate is absolutely horrible agaisnt those 4 champs, who are at a very high pick rate at the moment. I like veigar, but he needs some help. He is getting absolutely crushed by these 4.

i agree, but that doesnt necessarily mean that he needs to change his ult to affect them more, the reason they win against him is not because of his damage.

Also I kind of disagree, because kat and leblanc among others are still pretty prevalent

Them being ad really doesn't change Veigar's damage. Their mobility and damage output combined is the problem. Veigar's enemy ult scaling don't do much, except prohibiting you from nuking with just QR. EDIT: I read the OP another time, and imo, barely anyone is worried about the ult. His reliability and defensible are the problem. Imo, his ult is fine. Buffing his W would somewhat increase his reliability, but I feel a defensive E buff would be better

I know that's what i said. It's not because of Veigar and his damage output.

And about the ult change, there was just a post about it with a bunch of people agreeing. I definitely agree that better defense would be good, but it may not be needed. Maybe increase the stun duration

His safety is my only issue. He's squishy, but other squishies are a lot safer With all these assassins, they just blink out of Veigar's cage and murder your face. If you save your cage, the same thing happens He's fine at my level of play, but I'm not even ranked. People won't keep walking into my stun

I main Veigar and play him all the time

tis true. Although the dash stop thing is super nice against targets like leblanc or ahri. Hes kind of a niche pick, solely because of the ad mid popularity

Trídent1 votes

yeah, kinda wish he was an all-round pick

I just love his lore and gameplay style, so I spam him all the time

AD mids themselves don't matter much, but their mobility is D: I feel he could be a good pick for a lot more situations if the defensibility of his E was buffed

but he doesn't desperately need it. you just don't play him against ad mids

I play blind pick so....... hue.

Ah. Well you can still do decently well if you get ganks and play safe. I have done so when that happens

Little late commenting on this, I wish I saw it the other day. Here's my thoughts if interested; it's a bit long so I made a whole other post for them: http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/GD/8Jwa3ofd-so-veigar-is-currently-in-a-weird-state-between-mid-laner-and-support-can-we-pick-one-or-the-other

The short of it, to me Veigar seems in limbo between a good support and a good mid. He needs to be defined as one or the other, because he'll just suck at both.

Is rather have him be a good mid. The only thing he has going for him as support is poke and an amazing zoning tool. The problem is, for Veigar to be, well, Veigar, he needs farm to be relevant.

The bigger problem is he needs his damage to be reliable, and for that his stun needs to be able to be used offensively. All of his spells are easily dodge-able except for his ult. I dislike the Q change, but I can live with it. However, W will never be able to be used other than wave clear because its delay is so long, and while Q is good for poking/zoning now, simply hiding behind minions makes it impossible to land any damage. And there is no other stun in the game which clearly shows where it is going to go, giving the enemy ample time to avoid it--even when cast from fog of war or when cast at close range. Against any opponent of competence, he cannot 1v1 because it is just to easy to avoid all his damage. Sure, his team-fighting is still pretty good, especially if you can follow up on allied CC. However, as a carry Veigar lacks the innate ability to make his own plays, something other carries don't.

veigar is very good he has insane ap ratio. for exemple his q is 60% ap ratio, so when i miss it, i must return to my turret, but when it strike ENNEMY OMG I ULTI THE ENNEMY AND BOOM TRIPLE KILL.
