You know what Wukong really needs?

Make his Decoy continue his animation movements. Seriously, when I play against Wukong it's way too easy to tell apart when he has decoyed or not, since pressing W will reset his idle animation rather than make a smooth transcension.

What I would like to see is a more interactive clone. I'm good with the animation smoothing out on him, that's needed, but I'd like the clone to be more interesting:

-Have the clone last several seconds, not just the instant that Wukong is invisible. Maybe scaling on rank. 1/2/3/4/5 seconds, or 3/3.5/4/4.5/5. -Have the clone auto, Q, and E instead of the real Wukong, so long as it's in range to do so. Specifically make it impossible for both of them to attack at once: if the clone is in place to take over the attack, then the clone attacks and Wukong does nothing ala Azir.

You know what Wukong really needs?

I'd settle for a real passive tbh

True lol.

Just a passive wouldn't help him... His whole kit is an issue

Wukong's passive is alright... in late game team fights.

40 armor and MR is pretty valuable. Nothing crazy, but it's good.

The problem is that it's absolute dogshit in every other situation.

Yes! I asked for this so many times. It doesn't seem to be so hard to implement, just copy in which animation frame he pressed W and from this frame start clone animation

It is even easier than that, just spawn a stealthed clone and switch control from his body to the clone. His old body becomes the clone and continues doing whatever it was doing before, and Wukong gets to be a lot sneakier with his stealth.

ThePikol1 votes

No, swapping control over a character is much much more complicated than coping an integer (number of frame)

HalcyonDweller1 votes

Ah okay then.

The trick is to fake it by suddenly pressing the stop key

ThePikol4 votes

Yes, but when you stay for a while and then press W the clone will start idle animation from the beginning, not from when you were, so there is sudden change

But you see pressing S will make Wukong go from a moving animation and then go over to an idle animation. Pressing W will immediately start the idle animation, and there's a clear sign for when Wukong decoys.

''wE lIKE tO mAKE oUR tRICKY cHAMPIONS eVEN tRICKY'' Remember this quote from riot, comenting on a shaco and LB update?

Even riot forgot wukong.

''wE aRE uPDATING oLD cHAMPIONS tO hAVE mORE iNTERACTIVE pASSIVES, lIKE aMUMU AND fIDDLE.''

Another example of riot completly stepping over wukong.

In all fairness Fiddle had a pretty shitty passive. Reduce mr by 10 for all surrounding enemies... yaiy. Wukong needs a VGU, but who knows maybe he's next after Aatrox.

it should work like leblanc r but completely decoy oriented (aka it does no damage)

like activate w, and your next ability/attack command get's decoyed (and you insta stealth). if you w>e, the clone will do a fake nimbus strike that doesn't deal any damage (but this would make it useful as an offensive baiting tool at the cost of losing his only escape). or simply it follows basic movement commands instead of standing still.

Quite frankly I think this would be the best, least invasive change Riot could give him (which is good for those who want him to be the same) imo. It wouldn't be something that would increase his win rate much if at all, but would still help to just clean Wukong up a bit. If Riot can make something like a bug for Riven smoother and more reliable because it became an indispensable tool for her kit, I don't see why they can't do the same and make Wukong's decoy look like he pressed S.

that would be so dope

He needs a better passive and His W needs to continue attacking minions. This way I can stealth without the enemy realising. Doesn't matter tho. I still win with Wukong in teamfights so gg :3

but the derpy decoy is his counterplay... I get why you want it and all, but champs need some downsides every now and again

Nitelite1 votes

He needs his mana costs reduced significantly, and needs better waveclear.

I think they should reword his clone entirely, makes no sense to do magic damage and scale with AP.

#How to make Wukong hit his 50% winrate with one simple fix:

#W - DECOY

ACTIVE: Wukong blinks 100 units away, enters invisibility for 1.5 seconds and leaves behind a decoy of himself.

After 1.5 seconds, the decoy performs a circular attack around him for 0.5 seconds, dealing magic damage to all nearby enemies, and then vanishes.

MAGIC DAMAGE: 70 / 115 / 160 / 205 / 250 (+ 60% AP) COOLDOWN: 18 / 16 / 14 / 12 / 10

#NEW

ACTIVE: Wukong blinks 150 units away, enters invisibility for 2 seconds and leaves behind a decoy of himself, which will proceed to perform wukong's last command.

Wukong's clone attacks any nearby champion for 20% of wukong's AD. After 2 seconds, the decoy performs a circular attack around him for 0.5 seconds, dealing physical damage to all nearby enemies, and then vanishes.

PHYSICAL DAMAGE: 25 / 50 / 75 / 100 / 125 (+ 50% AD) COOLDOWN: 14 / 13 / 12 / 11 / 10

They should give him a VGU, but in his current state this change will at least improve his ability to trick people by a significant amount. You gotta remember Wukong was Riot's second attempt at making a champion that would confuse with clones, minus LB and her non-controllable run away clone.
