How is it going Jens, yours truly here with a discussion about one particular ability, which is Miss Fortune's Ultimate.

I want to point out that I am not a good player, like way below bronze 5 level. I understand that I don't know how to counter certain things or mechanics.

The thing is, I'm quite comfortable playing against most of the champions in the game, both early game and late game. But there is one lady that can completely shuts me down no matter how good of a game I have.

MF's ultimate is just this massive AOE damage that can affect the whole team and easily kill squishy targets. Well I usually play ADC role so I fall under that category. I can't get out of it in time, especially when there is someone to stun or slow me. All it takes is a mere 2 second exposition to it.

It's very easy to avoid or to even kill MF when you are up close, since Ulti is a cone. But it's impossible when two teams engage in a battle and ADC tries to stay in the rear. What MF does is she hides behind her tank and support characters and uses her ultimate. Since tanks and supports tend to have some CC, I, as an ADC who has to at least be in the shooting range to deal damage, may get stunned or slowed. Her ultimate kills me and my team almost always follows me because its hard to 4v5 with a dead ADC.

Jens, please suggest some tips and tricks I can use. I'm tired of loosing games in such unpleasant way. Being killed with a single ability and basically letting down the whole team. I love when I get outplayed or outsmarted. You can learn something from your mistakes. But this is beyond me. I don't believe that you have to be on such an advanced skill level to simply win against Miss Fortune.

Gotta love all the kids here that think they are good. "CC her." First off, not every team wants to play try hard CC tanks all the time. Some games you will have no CC, Yasuo windwall, Braum, etc. True, every champ has a counter. But this isn't pro league BO5, where players can adapt and stuff. In solo queue, the team with the best counters usually win. Some champions kits are so overloaded that it might just be GG in champ select. MF's kit is ridiculous. An AoE slow (E) and a huge AoE ult (R). I remember my last game, MF kept walking up to me and E + R in lane and instakilled me every time. Didn't have flash up at the time but there was no way to counter that... Anyways...MF's ult is broken AF.

its not the most broken ability in the game, but your instincts are correct.

the damage on the ability is absurd even for an ultimate.

this is her rank 2 ult at lvl 11 with just an item 3031 item 3087 : 1670 damage

this is her rank 3 ult at lvl 16 with item 3071 item 3142 item 3147 item 3026 (her standart build): **3618 damage ** a crit build at lvl 16 ramps the ult up to 3600 damage aswell.

this is more than most champions entire health pools over the course of 3 seconds.

the problem is that this ability is balanced around mobile champions who can either immediately jump out of it, or assassinate her while she channels it, or certain ranged champions who have cc to interrupt her instantly.

champions without mobility just get slowed by her e and have to flash if available or eat shit and die for free. this ability is a good example of how riot doesnt understand their own game and tends to tunnel vision on a few champions who can counter this shit, while there is a good chunk of champions who have no way to deal with getting blown up before they can react to it, or simply dont have tools to react to it and cant move out of it.

  1. In a team fight, murder the ADC first. Never try to kill the tanks because that's what they want you to do.

  2. MF's ult is a channel. You can interrupt it and completely stop it by using CC (knock-up, stun, etc)

  3. You can use her ult's opportunity to move sideways towards her, and kill her right after.

If you play ADC, then stopping MF from ulting is NOT your job. If your team's bad enough to not do their jobs - then don't engage her in a teamfight altogether. Try pickoffs, split, or just plain chill in the back until she ults. Since normally ADC is the best source of damage, survival is your main priority (0 hp = 0 dps obviously), so go do that. Maybe then your team will actually learn to pull back a bit and bait her ult. Or play Ezreal, this works too.

As long as you can get out of her cone, you should be fine so save your flash specifically for this (you can flash out of even the widest part of the cone). After that shes easy to kill (I main MF bot, so this definitely works against me)
