RIOT: You've RUINED My Favorite Champion: Malzahar

Malzahar at one point, in my opinion, was one of the strongest dark horse champions in league. I've heard numerous times "Nah malz is garbage". Why is that though? I had carried many games with my Malzahar play. His Q provided immense AoE AP strength with solid silence, his E could contend with any serious lane push, and anyone knows that his ult was stupidly strong! But one of the things I loved most was using tact in playing my voidlings. See, when playing Malzahar it wasnt about how many voidlings I could get out, but rather my voidlings building upon how strong Malzahar was with his abilities where, with right timing, his voidling(s) would come in at aid to finish up the job.

NOW, Malzahar is all about the voidlings. Before Malzahar's rework, Malzahar was given a 9/10 rating on his AP damage. A 9/10. But now when I play him after his rework his spell damage is STUPIDLY underwhelming. I was telling a friend yesterday how pre-rework Malzahar's E could eat away 1/4 an enemy's health by lvl 10, whereas now i'm lucky if I can break down an 1/8 from their health. by lvl 10 Malzahar's E could eat away a minion's life by itself damage, but now by lvl 10 Malzahar's E can do no better then 3/4 the health of A MINION. I mean, it already takes time for E to do its damage on a minion, it doesnt help if that time cant even kill that minion! Yes, Malzahar's voidlings are great and strong, but now Malzahar's game play has become too heavily reliant on those minions to do the damage Malzahar already once possessed.

Let's run through a game play scenario. Say i'm pushing mid lane and i throw on the E + W combo (malefic visions & voidlings). That does do quite some quality damage right there. But Malzahar's voidlings have always been weak. Say someone, like most people I fight recently, kill off Malzahar's voidlings, then what? I have to wait another 12-15 seconds to resummon those voidlings then wait for them to multiply (if they can even get to that point before being killed), what do we have left? A once powerful mage who sold his power to his voidlings to become a by stander. My E doesn't have the push strength it use to, my Q doesnt have the strength it once had while also taking away the strength of its' silence, and his ult is DRASTICALLY underwhelming.

I guess my whole point is: Malzahar was never about the voidlings. Malzahar was all about the space aids. Malzahar was all about the space aids and his ult. Rather than developing tact in how to summon & make use of his voidlings, Malzahar has given away all his strength to his voidlings.

Malzahar obviously wasn't the most appealing champion due to his lack of escape/mobility, but it's where positioning yourself at the right place and time that mattered. You actually had to be careful and aware of your surroundings. When practiced and learned properly, Malzahar was already a dominant champion in his own right, now I can't even stomach to play him. RIOT, were you trying to underhandedly nerf Malzahar or something? Malzahar has become more of a spectacle for soloing dragons at lvl 3 THROUGH HIS VOIDLINGS rather than a viable dependable lane champion through his sheer force of power.

"Mortality is weakness" -Malzahar. Well guess what Malz, you became mortal when you sold your powers to the voidlings.

Tbh I've been wondering how many games RiotRepertoir actually had on Malzahar

Also didn't like how he says Malzahar should be this or that when the champion came out in TWO THOUSAND AND FUCKING TEN

If he wasn't meant to be played the way he had been played, they had SIX years to say so.

I'd have to agree. Malz is even more gimmicky than he was before. He is one of my most played champions, but now, he is either always banned, or when I do play him, he just feels terrible. I chose Malz because I am mainly a gold elo player, and my teammates were always getting themselves destroyed by a sin since they didn't know how to play against one. Malz used to have the ability to counter a sin player, now....ehh. And with Malz gone, now I'm not sure who to go to. Playing against Ekko, Zed, Fizz...I got nothing now. It's pretty frustrating.
