Point and click abilities

Over the years League of Legends has become more and more a skill based game, focusing on individual skill with specific champions. This is shown with ability to land skill shots, positioning, knowledge of when to engage, etc. Point and click abilities seem to be against anything skill based in this game and the perceptions of any skill. I can agree with ultimate abilities being point and click as well as many dashes/leaps being point and click, since ultimate's have long cooldowns and with dashes you want to go to your cursor. Improved auto attacks such as Leona or Trundle are not an issue either since they must be within melee range or only activate every so often. Shield and heals are also completely fine being point and click, that would be awful if they were skill shots.

Lets take a look at some of the point and click offenders.

This may take a while

The first one alphabetically is Anivia E, it relies on her landing her other abilities or else it does not do much damage and costs a lot of mana. Overall I am ok with this point and click because it doesn't do much by itself.

Annie her Q can be a point and click stun that does a large amount of damage, being point and click seems too powerful.

Brand E is the start of his EQW combo for maximum single target damage, or QEW for aoe damage, while this isn't an issue since it has very short range.

Cassiopeia E is her main damage and while she is mainly a melee abuser Riot wants her to be a DPS mage and substitutes her E essentially for auto attacks

Elise has one skill shot and all her damage loaded into point and click current health damage and missing health damage, seems very strong to me

Evelynn I am biased towards since I play her a lot, her W seems fair since it has a long charge time and then tells you which direction she is coming from, I would rather have that then Rengar jump out of invis and one shot me

Fiddlesticks getting reworked

Gangplank Q with grasp is the most obnoxious thing the lane against, no counter play and when he runs out of mana he buys a sheen and just does it again, I would say since it is supposed to be a farming tool primarily it should cost more mana and give a percent mana refund when it kills minions

Janna her W and comet does too much damage and she can just shield herself to avoid any retaliation, I would rather her go back to being a shield bot than her point and click poke of a laning phase, but changing it to be a skill shot would be even better

Jhin his Q by itself has the potential to do a lot of damage but has to kill something first, it is also his farming tool and I am ok with this one

Karma her W has been a balance problem whenever tank karma is viable, but as a support it doesnt seem to be that much of an issue since it takes a while for it to root the enemy

Kassadin Q is a mini silence designed to stop channels and deal an okay amount of damage. I know that he was designed to counter Katarina but he needs a full rework in all honesty, he just does mediocre all game and then becomes a god at level 16.

Katarina her Q does very little damage and her kit does have counter play so I am okay with her Q

Kayle her E was an issue when klepto was a key stone that would give her mana sustain but now people max Q for the slow and shred, the improved auto at a range does not seem to be that powerful

Khazix Basically an improved auto

Kindred E slow that does a massive chunk if kindred can get her 3 autos in, seems very strong for point and click

Leblanc her Q rewards her for landing another ability with more damage, which can just be the same ability with her ult, or her essentially point and click dash, when Leblanc is strong there does not seem to be any counterplay

Lulu her polymorph is a carry's worst nightmare, sure a item 3140 can stop it, but should a point and click basic ability on a 7 second cooldown with 40% CDR last for 2.25 seconds???? and her E is just a bunch of damage for free

Malphite he is the main reason I wanted to write this, his Q does way too much damage when he builds ap, laning against him when he builds full ap is a nightmare, he lands 3 Qs and you have to leave or else he just ults you and you die.

Malzahar space aids doesnt do that much damage

MissFortune basically an improves auto or a pseudo skill shot when bouncing

Nami damage isnt that great and the bounces are strange to say the least

Nasus late game if you are a carry and he withers you you must have a item 3140 or you will die

Nocturne again takes a while for the cc to happen and you can outplay the point and click by getting away from him

Pantheon point and click stuns are overtly overpowered

Poppy situational stun that you can avoid, does little damage otherwise

Quinn I haven't put any other dashes on this list but she is different, this is a disngage that slows and marks her so she gets a speed boost, this single move make her untouchable for most melee champions

Rammus as much as I love this guy his e taunt is a death sentence for a carry, moving the taunt to his q would make it more balanced IMO, keep the level up scaling on his E but possibly making himself the skill shot would make him more balanced

Ryze I am very happy they made his point and click root situational, but this champion has always been a mess and if they try and balance the idea of a mana scaling, spell spamming, burst, utility mage, that has 2 of his 3 damagiing abilities be point and click, that seems very difficult

Shaco it is easy to tell when a shaco player is good, and his E recently got buffed and does serious damage now, but the rest of his kit relies more on mind games and champion skill, when he isnt invisible and one shots you with a backstab

Sylas basically an improved auto that heals him

TahmKench has always be a balance nightmare, he is either a cleanse bot for his team, or his high essentially unavoidable base damage makes him overpowered. His W does a massive amount of damage and applies a lengthy cc, while it does have a prerequisite that doesn't change that they have had to gut the fish to stop his damage

Teemo moving on

Tristana all of her damage is loaded into one point and click ability, I think it would be healthier to spread the damage out, or make it a skill shot

TwistedFate 2 second stun on a 3.3 second cooldown, nice

Viktor when maxing Q became a viable strategy on him he became the best top laner period, and they had to nerf him to irrelevance

Vladimir so many issues with this champ, but his point and click massive damage Q that also heals him should be changed

And that is all the point and click abilities that are not dashes or improved auto attacks. Many of these abilities are extremely frustrating to deal with and don't feel as if when they beat you that you have been outplayed.

Knowing how and when to play around your opponents CDs is also a huge part of skill expression. Vlad's Qs for instance are only of importance when his empowered Q is available which you can very easily see and tell when It's coming. Waiting for enemies to spend their abilities on someone else or just forcing them to use them on you rather than on your carries is a part of the skill expression available and ways to counterplay/outplay.

Only thing that needs to be changed on Vlad is his early healing on minions. it should be reduced to 50% healing until maxed
