Reminding everyone that Yasuo has a 62% banrate at Diamond & above.

So please, cut your "stop crying & learn to counter him" bullshit & just admit that Yasuo is definitely a problem. This isn't a "low elo only problem" anymore.

I propose giving Yasuo the Urgot/Akali treament, where he should be intentionally gutted til Riot figures out what the fk to do with him.

Oh Yasuo kit is annoying to play against and he has a high banrate? Interesting. If only he can get the Akali treatment*[slayer-pantheon-popcorn]*

nahhh...he's too popular*[slayer-jinx-wink]*

Riot Blaustoise explained why Riot has not yet gutted Yasuo: his playrate decreases little with his winrate. His mains would keep playing him despite his being gutted. While Blaustoise did not explain the consequences, we can readily imagine them.

  1. Gutted Yasuo becomes a troll pick, losing his team the game in champion select, and thereby only increases the frustration of everyone else.

  2. This increased frustration only increases his banrate, as players try to keep their teammates from picking Yasuo, even banning hovered ones.

Nerfing him more would only increase these two effects, eventually either making Yasuo a universal permaban or driving away even his most passionate players, effectively deleting him. You might rejoice the thought, but remember that the game would then be played with only 8 bans, and that even Azir has never been subjected to such punishment.

Isnt what they have done with akali. The main reasonwhy he escape the nerf is because he is popular and keep pumping the skin money.

SpaghettiVase1 votes

They've done that with a lot of champions to be honest. Blaustoise just doesn't want yas nerfed so he can int on him and still get free LP

Do we have evidence of this? Has he actually ever been outright weak? I can't remember any such time, even though I've been keeping track for at least a couple years.

Nerfing him more would only increase these two effects, eventually either making Yasuo a universal permaban

He already is

or driving away even his most passionate players, effectively deleting him.

There's plenty of other champions that they didn't hesitate to delete. To refrain from that in Yasuo's case is an inconsistency.

You might rejoice the thought, but remember that the game would then be played with only 8 bans

Either no one plays him, or he's perma-banned. Both won't happen, only one at a time.

even Azir has never been subjected to such punishment.

But he still has been subject to very harsh punishment. Yasuo, a worse offender, has not been subject to any punishment.

It should not be a reason to keep a cancer in this game because he is popular. 3/4 of the people who play him only play him because he is OP. Nerf him and his popularity drop to 4-5% at best.

Oh no, this champion is completely fine, I don't know what you're talking about tbh.

It's not like he gets like 10 years of immortality with his windwall.

It's not like he has 10 milion flashes thanks to your own minions.

He's definitely not one of the AD assassins that made all immobile mages only playable as a damage-dealing support.

It's not like turrets ignore him when he's ulting.

It's not like he negates your 1 ability thanks to his shield

It's not like he gets free crits thanks to his another passive (10 passive effects btw)

It's not like even if he goes 2/10 he can farm up and still be a huge threat in late game.

I could continue but I think this is enough. It's funny how you see boards spamming nerf Yasuo and Riot pretends like it's not there.

Emo Twink2 votes

YEA, mobile champs mid like yasuo need to be nerfed to get immobile mages out of botlane, yasuo counters almost all of them badly and if he's open, he's guaranteed to get picked (popularity), counter them, and make it such a chore of a game. If they go bot, theyre safe from that.

Full item? he only needs 1. He has a 50% WR against Fiora, thats 1% below his current WR meaning a good Yasuo can dumpster her.

Xerath

Just start that 1v1 across the map. Trigger his shield with your ult + item 3285 on a nearby minion (so he can't avoid it), then follow up with anything you'd like. He can only block your E, so if your not standing in a minion wave then it's his dodging vs your aiming, and he'll pop like any other swishy to a full build Xerath.

Seriously, Yasuo is one of the reasons I played so much Xerath.

Spicy Rice2 votes

My friends won't believe me when I say Xerath is sleeper OP.

A good xerath can singlehandedly stall out a lost game in the mid game, and basically 1v9 carry once he hits late game.

Vayne is made irrelevant cause he can juggle inside the wall.

Jax is entirely dependent on how yasuo uses his ult to deal with counter strike.

Fiora requires prediction on her part.

Yi. Fuck this champion. But he still loses this fight due to tornado out ranging him.

Kassadin. Yeah maybe. Depends on whether or not he can manage to get his q shield on in time for the tornado.

Even then with Kassadin that Q shield is a magic shield.

All of Yas damage is Physical except E.

Kass literally needs to 1 shot Yas.

Yes. But it stops the knockup still. Which stops yasuos ult. Which lets kassadin have armor.

It’s still not likely but you know.

Spicy Rice3 votes

Umm, kassadin doesn't have a spell shield.

Not saying he doesn't beat yasuo, just that q'ing a yasuo isn't gonna stop a nado.

Kassadin wins because Yasuo can't block or really dodge his e and ult, and late game, his ult is on a low enough cd that kass can ult in, combo, and ult out before yasuo has a tornado charged up

My bad. I thought his w have a spell shield as well

But even so. This leads into a setting where kassadin only really wins, if yasuo misses his tornado (which he can make point and click) or if kassadin predicts what yasuo is going to do, which in turn means the matchup is nearly entirely decided by what yasuo does.

Spicy Rice1 votes

Ok, sure, you can e-q to essentially make tornado point and click, except for 1 small thing...

You can dodge the e-q, or rather, cause yasuo to overshoot. You can do this by walking towards him as he e-q's. You can dodge it by dashing away from it. You can dodge it by teleporting away from it as well.

Meaning you as Kassadin can decide to dodge the e-q, even without riftwalking.

Issue being, you have to have t2 boots to do so. If we are talking full builds, yasuo can’t be instant popped because he would just have a mr item and be done with it. Along with almost 3k hp after shielding.

Yeah, and all 3 of them deserve reworks (Yi probably won't get it, because they want a basic "slayer" for the new players, but that champion really needs a new "E" ability and bugfixes on his Q - which is again unreliable, despite it was supposed bo fixed some time ago)

Ok, how about Veigar? If there are no minions and the Veigar baits out the windwall before he ults, he definitely wins(Assuming he gets Yasuo inside his E). I know that is extremely situational but Veigar should win a 1v1(if he's good).

Another champion who I feel might win against Yasuo is Rengar. This guy will delete Yas so fast that there's no way for him to use his third Q and win.

And on the topic on the fact that those three need reworks, I feel like Tryndamere really needs a rework(not Jax though) bc he's pretty much stat check(like DrMundo , another champion who needs a rework). MasterYi might need a rework but he's fine(has counterplay but is still strong).

For how long could we not leave turret turret range w/o properly placed pinks, 2 or 4 weeks?

Might miss the good ol' days, but one aspect that I do not miss was just how ridiculously broken some champs could be.

Ok, the reason why he has such high banrate in high elo(no I am not a Yas main) is because everyone hates him. He could have a 30% winrate and people will still hate him and continue to ban him. Banrate does not mean anything(at least in terms of Yas) bc everyone just automatically sees a Yas and hates on him. He has a 48% win percentage and just got nerfed. It's just that everyone dislikes him why his banrate is high.

If everyone hates this champion enough to ban him even if he has a low winrate, doesn't that say something about how his kit might be a bit toxic, enough to warrant some kind of reworking of kit?

Ok, people dislike him for two reasons, his w, and the fact that you can't poke him(passive). Lol, I'm not even trying to defend him, I'm just saying that citing banrate as a reason to gut Yasuo won't work. Yeah he needs a rework(not getting it anything soon, too popular), but gutting him until the rework is something that Riot won't do.

PrinceOfStorms2 votes

They need to take away 15 MS from him. 345 is way too much base movement speed for a champion that has a 0 cooldown dash. Full stop. And while they're at it remove the interaction between Attack Speed and Yasuo's Q (where its animation gets faster as you get more AS). If Yasuo wants to build full crit the attack speed should be a wasted stat.

Maybe also remove the EQ interaction and give the tornado a minimum range of 500 units.
