Reducing the armor and upping the damage reduction instead leads to a double nerf when adc gets changed. Not to mention this would probably lead to the point where it's pretty much mandatory for the losing adc to pick them up to reduce enemy adc damage.
Upping the armor and reducing the passive is not good since it's basically gonna make them a better buy vs assassins and worse vs ADC's, not what we want.

Solution: The best option really is to make them scale from like 5-12% so ADC's lategame damage could be kept in tact while also making not insanely broken and efficient to rush in lane. Then it'd be less problematic to try to balance them before ADC's even get hit. Also avoiding the classic double nerf. (sejuani'd)

Agreed, feeling bit anxious of how this balancing is gonna work out. If we could wait several years with the current tabis I doubt there's a rush to change it a few patches earlier than needed. Better make sure nothing bad comes out of it.

Last time Riot nerfed tabis was because there was a massive circle jerk saying that they were broken and adcs were 'weak'.

its not that ninja's are OP, its that other boots are shit. ninjas are situational on mid/ADC/support for example but core on MELEE CHAMPS. bruisers/tanks get nothing out of other boots. dont nerf ninjas, just give mercs an actual passive cause tenacity really is useless.

i wouldnt even get mercs if ninjas were deleted, id just get sorc boots on tanks and AS boots on bruisers.

Before you go nerfing tabi's, you best be making item 3087 item 3094 damage not stackable while also increasing ADC item costs.

Ninja tabi's might be overpowered but ADC's right now are beyond retarded in power level.

as an adc main i must say i am so glad tabis might be getting nerfed. tabis right now are making me feel like "i have to get 2-3 items or else i will be useless." that's not a good feeling. if they will nerf tabis as well as adc's both i will gladly accept it because of this.

they reduced the price of iedge and essence reaver by 200 gold last season right? i think with the new rune system adc's can afford to have the gold price on them increased by 200 again.

if that's not enough i feel like they can increase the price of zeal items too, i feel like it wont ruin adc's, as long as they still nerf tabi's as well of course.
