Fun Fact: Kog's performance is actually *worse* is 5s

Not by much, but it's still a bit lower.

Why?

Well, while being able to build an organized team around Koggy helps him, being able to build an organized team around shutting him down hurts him quite a bit more. Kog actually does best in lower level unorganized games because the enemy team lacks the coordination to stop him as often.

And his 'best' is still pretty awful.

So, yeah. This remake is accomplishing the exact opposite of its stated purpose, Riot. Kog is weaker in organized play and he lost his hyper-carry curve when you removed the AD scaling on his W. He still needs some work. Talk to the Koggy community and lets us provide some feedback on our favorite Voidpuppy.

I feel like he actually had 3 phases of power after his rework.

Phase 1 was everyone thinking he was shit without comparison.

Phase 2 was a short time of everybody absolutely wrecking house against people.

and finally Phase 3 recently he's gone back down to him being really damn weak.

And I can tell you why this was the case, too.

First people were having trouble figuring out how to build and play the guy since he had changed so much.

Once people figured out what to do with him, other players were still under-estimating him and thus got wrecked. The hotfix buff helped quite a bit, too.

Players learned to respect the Kog and to avoid him when Rageblade is stacked and his W is off cooldown. Now that people know how to play around his strengths and pounce on his weaknesses, he's back to being awful.

I can tell because it's impossible to play him. You'd think they would give him some amount of durability or extreme sustain to help him against all of the burst he's going to receive.

Building Kog like a ranged Juggernaut actually works quite a bit better than one would expect. Honestly, it makes more sense when compared with his Lore as well. I doubt there are many people who run TanKoggy, however. It's pretty much just me and the people who have given my build a shot over on Dominion.

Kog works fine over on Dominion, as it happens. People rarely make it to late game (where Kog starts dropping off) and the map covers several of his big weaknesses (dying is punished less, fights are smaller, mana is less of an issue).

a lot of that was because of some of the tinkering with rageblade too.

Tinkering with Rageblade and nerfing Battle Fervor or whatever it's called.

Kog will be getting an indirect buff with the coming Mastery change next patch. Whether or not it proves to be enough to pull him out of 'worst ADC in the game' tier is another question.
