The only thing problematic about lethality is the fact that is does nothing to remove the twenty million counterplays true assassins have. Whether or not we have tons of damage makes no difference if we have to jump through impossibly many hoops to deal that damage.

I wouldn't say it counters them specifically, because you buy armor to counter lethality but the fact that you need to kinda is the point. You sacrifice dps for armor to counter lethality and then you lost dps in a fight.

60 armor

54 lethality

The enemy assassin has accomplished almost nothing from buying lethality, especially since the enemy adc can get these two items without falling heavily behind, as GA gives AD now (though a low amount for its price).

But he does get something out of it. He forces the adc to buy armor, which lowers the damage output, and i can get 84 lethality right now.

60 Armor + 70+ Base Armor + 9 Armor Runes > 84 Leth.

This Is Your Dad1 votes

You just don't get it. The base armor is there to begin with, as is the 9 armor runes. If you buy 60 armor you're cutting the dps. Any lethality that would reduce the armor of a champion below 0 is wasted. If you want to be a tanky adc, go for it.

I mean buying GA and Tabi's isn't going to effect you're DPS that much.

You're still going to have good enough DPS.

I don't think you can buy 9 items.

notice the "/" meaning you would be choosing between them.

Didn't see them. My bad. The only difference in standard adc build is a ninja tabis though. I still think lethality is overtuned, not because of assassins, but because if adcs are building lethality, like Miss Fortune, you can see a huge difference in damage.

That's why they changed the formula to you're level instead of opponents level.

Meaning Solo lane Leth users would get more out of it while the Jungler then the AD would get less out of it right away. Really once they fix Duskblade, we'll be back on track, maybe change Leth so Ranged users can't abuse it as hard.

I think ranged could be cut to half effectiveness. MF is the biggest abuser of it. Honestly as a tank I've been melted by lethality a few times with 200 armor and I'm not sure why, 3 k hp 200 armor. They did not have a last whisper or black cleaver either. At 300 armor I was way more durable against them though, as expected.

MrHaZeYo1 votes

At 200 Armor, you shouldn't be getting melted unless you're just purely behind or dueling them and even then you shouldn't get "melted"

100 armor → × 0.5 incoming physical damage (50% reduction, +100% effective health).

Reduce that 100 armor by 75 as an average.

25 armor → × 0.8 incoming physical damage (20% reduction, +25% effective health).

If you have more than 100 armor, you're not going to hurt anything.

yea but cant assassins just buy armor pen items?

Literally item 3026+item 3047 counters all lethality items at level 18.

That's not true.

Because while it does counter the armor, that's a fairly standard ADC build... which means Lethality is still penning that much armor. So it's still helping quite a bit

Isn't it just Duskblade that's completely broken right now and not lethality in general?

The Leo Cat1 votes

... OP, you're missing the point. The problem isn't Lethality. The problem is Duskblade.

Duskblade adds so much additional damage without a cool down. You have guardian angel? So what, all they need to do is jump in a bush and wait for three seconds, walk up to you and delete you again.
