Honoring Opponents

Please bring back the ability to honor an opponent, it's just good sportsmanship and it's something i would love*[slayer-pantheon-thumbs]* to see back

To be honest, I am more likely to be friends with my opponents than it is with my teammates.

Oh the irony.

I approve of this change.

Same here. Usually, my "team" is a buch of trashfucks and the enemy is lovable. I had a winning enemy Kai'Sa that fought 3vs3 (I substract two of my trash noob "team" "mates" in that game) but she was always ready to dish out a comment about my nice gameplay despite she's been butchered. While I would not even touch my trash "team" "mates" with a pole, the enemy seems to be much more enjoyable, no matter if they win or not.

Lol no. It´s the most toxic thing you can do. Yasuo goes 0/15 giving you a free win. 5 honorable opponent

More like 5 reports for intentionally feeding

if you think the Yasuo died intatnionally 5 deaths pre min 15 you are mistaken

That was my most received honor in the old system.

you can also show good sportsmanship with your own words instead of just clicking on a selection of buttons.

People always bitch around the changes that they can't honor enemies anymore or everyone in the team but i just always think: You can honor them with words? Like pay respect in the chat, thank them in the lobby after the game. All that honor gives are just some loot at certain level. Old system did nothing. And by all seriousness loot isn't something big important.

If you REALY wanna gift the people something there is still the gift option after game (i think it is still there isn't it?). And saying "thank you, well played, good game, good job or go more into detail" after the game can mean a little bit more as just clicking on an honor option. Own words can describe far more as the 3, 4 types of honor you can try to spread.

Usually, (for me at least) the opponents and/or teammates, are gone by the time I get to the end game lobby, and I can't. Also, some people don't want to waste time by writing out who deserves praise and why (and it is nice to see that someone honored you like they did before, kinda encourages you to go on playing league).

Any who, what's wrong with the ability to honor opponents by pushing a button? With how we honor now, it could be feasible to honor one opponent like we are able to do with one teammate. It doesn't have to count toward the honor system (since it could, of course, give Riot an excuse to inflate the amount of honor it takes to climb the honor levels), it just says how much opponents enjoyed playing against you. Also, gifting costs money, while honoring doesn't.

P.S. I see you've copy/pasted that same argument word for word on another post about honoring, Häxel.

loot isnt important? its literally the only reason i play the game, to get new stuff and unlock as much as possible. i often ask myself what im going to do when i have all champs unlocked (58 to go). i would say go for all skins but that would take me decades. also, i dont pay to unlock anything. i do it au natural

I wish summoners hung around in the aftergame lobby longer. And all loaded it at the same speed.

There are times when I want to type something consoling or congratulatory only for the summoner I was directing it at to either have already left or leave in the middle of me typing it.

Oh well. Can't think of any software solution that wouldn't cause more annoyance than it solved.

I'd only honor inters tbh

Good sportsmanship is dead in League, bringing buttons back would only allow players to be more toxic.

I like the idea of showing my opponent some respect if he/she was overall a good player with good sportsmanship. Sad to say this might screw with the new honor system, and make for inaccurate honors, given that opponents like to honor those who feed them :/ i wish we could bring this back tho.
