I know people used to be pissed that a while ago riot moved naut's old lore over to pyke...

But you gotta agree it fits his personality, visuals, and story way better than naut's.

My personal opinion (and I will probably get some hate for it), but I preferred the lore changes for Nautilus back then. Moving the story of the betrayed sailor to Pyke was the right call, it fits him way better (like you said) and now Nautilus has some overlap with him here.

And I liked the idea that Nautilus is some ancient titan enforcing the will of the bearded lady.

I mean, it's still kinda there. Naut's lore didn't really change that much.

Even if its not Canon, knowing his origins and have TWO drowned ones fighting eachother both fighting for the ones who gave them their powers still feels cool. Kinda wish it'd become an in game side quest to have Pyke vs Nautilus. especially since technically they are BOTH mindless slaves.

Then put actuall lore on Nautilus. Heck, they didnt even put a real interaction between Pyke and Nautilus when Naut's lore suggests that he is an enity very similar to Pyke. Just lazy lore making on their part

I dont understand the issue of having an identical narrative between two characters.

I always thought Ivern has structurally parallel origins with Zyra, with the details just being different but no one was 'pissed' over that. They've ended up being two sides of the same coin. I dont know if Riot meant for this, or they forgot about Zyra when Ivern was released and then forgot about Ivern when reapproached Zyra's lore. However, out of the plant trinity, Zyra and Ivern mirrored each other quite nicely.

Akali and Katarina, have a comparable overlap with their origins too.

Naut makes better use of the new lore he was given. If Nautilus was suddenly bound to his diving suit, then why is he somehow so much bigger than a normal human. How exactly is he 'the titan of the depths' if he's bound to a regular diving suit.

I don't really like Nautilus, so I don't care. However, I would be furious if I were told such a thing about Varus.

What is the problem with two champions having a similar Bio? Bilgewater is a dangerous area, it's not unusual to be betrayed by others. I like the current Bio better than the original Bio from Nautilus, But I don't think the first rewritten Nautilus Bio is a "This Nautilus Bio is amazing! Because it's original and differentiated from Pyke's Bio.".
