@riot, do not lower barons health
in PBE they changed barons health from 8800 to 7000. thats a huge change. baron already goes down fast as it is. doing this would make it harder to stop a team rushing baron.

I think the goal is to make baron a fairly comparable trade off to dragon. By keep barons health high, or even higher as some have suggested, the only real way to get it is after aceing a team fight, in which you are already ahead. And then the game ends shortly thereafter.
By lowering barons health it makes it easier to get a baron, even when losing, and maybe keep the game going.

It actually makes sense for them to reduce the difficulty of taking baron given they reduced the duration of the baron buff.
they probably plan on increasing its health per level gain or however that multiplier works, basically so that it scales up harder the longer the game goes. Just a hunch.
Baron isn't a buff that makes you win fights, Dragon is, so they want Baron to be more accessible as the "pushing buff"
baron buff makes it easier to take down nexus turrets/split pushing. losing 1800 hp makes it harder to contest it against a sustained jungler/percentange damage dealers.
can a rioter comment about this? what is the reasoning behind the change, and if they will revert/change it up again..etc.
I'd say it would make sense if the health gain/level was increased to compensate. That way early/semi-early baron rushes are more practical without making late-game baron something you destroy in just a few seconds.

I heard when Season 4... Aatrox and Warwick can solo Baron with right build... dunno now... anybody has tested yet???
Maybe they are going to increase his defensive stats. I hope not since they damage dealed to AD & AP was actualy kinda ballanced right now.
LOL plz. Late game any sustain jungler can solo it. It should remain the same imo.
Baron buff was nerfed hard, so they are nerfing baron.
