Aatrox isn't OP but

I have lots of fun playing him. I find his early and mid to be wonderful once you learn to manage his passive, but late game he falls off hard.

Funny thing tho, I still feel my Morde split is stronger tho, and you can only play Aatrox against certain matchups.

The question is, how do you play Aatrox? I prefer a more CDR focused Aatrox, because I'm a civilized human bean, but, some people prefer AS or Crit, with a select few still building AP.

Ad reds, cdr blues, as quints, scaling hp yellows. I take either exaust+ignite or flash+ignite.

Rush Botrk and Berserker greaves.

I play him passive and max W first. I focus on farm, and only ult when blood well is up. I try to keep my passive at 80% until they get too close and than I do extended trades. If I can kill them I will, if not I back off.

Basically, when I play Aatrox, it's hit and run. Gurella warfare. Hit for a bit, than back off. I play pretty safe with him, but super freaking aggro when the passive is up.

I can see why late-game would be a problem for ya. The problem with building Aatrox around his W like that, is you force the majority of his damage into single target. Personally, I prefer going with a CDR build, focusing on stacking his passive through abilities. Runes, I go AD reds, AD quints, AR yellows, and MR blues. I pick up TL with the extra 5% CDR from masteries. I try to rush either BC or Ravenous Hydra, depending on the matchup. From there I'll round out my build, normally ending up with something like: item 3071 item 3074 item 3812 item 3065 item 3143 and item 3047 or item 3111

You get pretty good late-game damage out of this, since more of your damage is focused in your Q and E, and their low CD's means you can cast them a couple times in a teamfight, you have decent health and resists, so you don't pop like a balloon, and you have good splitpush, still, since you have tons of waveclear, and your passive allows you to take turrets pretty quickly.
