The Juggernaut rework was an attempt at making champions different for the sake of being different

As opposed to actually trying something that will put the champions affected into a better spot.

Darius - more counterplay, stronger in teamfights where he quickly fell off. Maybe too strong in lane.

Mordekaiser - more counterplay, lower threat range in exchange for being more punishing

Garen - weaker in lane, given a strong anti-carry role for comeback potential. scales naturally with levels so he can do something while at an item disadvantage

Skarner - to remind you that they have dominion

i think the reworks are good for the most part

Thats actually the idea, champions should be different, they should have different strenghs and objectives. Without that, there will be something like "champA does same things in game as champB, but he does it better/worse". The problem is, people continued picking reworked Darius against lane bullies and cried about "WTF Rito why you killed Darius", which resulted in a hotfix and now we have what we deserved.

but things like this are done without thought of consequence.

They only say "Hey we haven't done this mechanic yet." slaps it on a champion without a second thought in how it relates to their current power, strengths or weaknesses

That does not work that way, it is more like: 1: Hey, we should make Skarner more interesting, he is just a walking boring ult now 2: So should we buff his non-ult spells? 1: That will probably break him, but maybe we can add a weakness to him, so he can be countered? 3: What if we make his power differ based on his position on the map? 1: Wow, thats a great idea. So he will based on map control, and playing Skarner will be more interesting. This will add a unique role for him

I like the principle behind the Darius rework, less of a lane bully and better in teamfights. But that 90% ban rate atm.

Thats because he is still just as good a lane bully and also good in team fights now.

It's supposed to bring back the holy trinity.

They are supposed to be a class that can deal with mobility creeps.

Ah yes I can understand how giving Morde the ability to control the dragon can deal with mobility creep.

I can also understand how giving Garen true damage against 1 player at a time will help him deal with mobility creep.

The lane juggernauts are weak only because people are being stupid about playing against them, at least in the lane phase with Garen's nerf. Darius has a horrifyingly bad lane phase right now if you know how to abuse it, or just pick a ranged champion. He can't do anything against someone who attacks from outside of melee range.

Ranged champs have always countered Darius.
