Why aren't LP gains/losses static and equal?

Why aren't LP gains/losses simply static? If this is a 'team game' why are you punished/awarded based off of your individual actions? How would it be a bad thing to have a +10W/-10L LP system? This way you'd have to win at least 75% of the time to advance. I also don't understand the arbitrary 'promotional series' in between division tiers. Why the fuck do I have to arbitrarily win twice in a row or else be put back the equivalent of four games (Some times more)? I understand the concept to move out of an entire division, but why every single tier? I just don't understand why I can go S+ in 90% of my games (Literally over 100 games) but still only receive 14-17 LP for a win and lose 20-23 LP. I have been up for promotion to get out of B3 twice now, and twice I've gone from about 7 wins in a row, to losing 2 games in a row and being put back about 6 wins. I am currently at about W60%/L40% ratio yet the system thinks I deserve to just stay where I'm at. I believe that if you're winning even just 51% and losing 49% you deserve to have some kind of noticeable lateral progression. In this system I am just perpetually in B3 with a 7W/3L streak for the past two weeks. And I know it doesn't matter as much, but most of the games I've lost were because of trolls, toxic players and extremely stupid players that had nothing to do with me. So again, if this is a 'team game' why am I being punished on an individual level with 15 LP wins and 21 LP losses? I think the community would be better as a whole if people were allowed to progress without having to win over 90% of the time. I also don't understand why we aren't allowed to just see where we stand. Why is our MMR 'hidden'. Why isn't it just there for me to see?

Here is an example of what I think would be fair, roughly: Bronze 5-1: +25W/-25L Silver 5-1: +16W/-16L Gold 5-1: +12W/-12L Platinum 5-1: +9W/-9L Diamond 5-1: +6W/-6L

Promotional series would only happen between divisions and not division tiers.

This way you can never be set back further than you've come with only one loss. It wouldn't be possible to play all day, winning 8 games in a row, reach a promotional series, lose twice in a row and have to win at least 6 games in a row to reach the series again. How is it fair that someone can literally have a W/L ration of 5:1 and still be stuck in the same division? promotional series have no place inside tiers, they are arbitrary and unfair. I don't know about how anyone else plays, but I ALWAYS give 100%, try hard and act serious. I don't get 'extra excited' and try 'extra hard' when a promotional series comes. So its pointless and makes no sense.

because match making isn't even on both sides perfectly and if it was, would take much longer to find games. learn about mmr a bit since that's what gives you the amount of points.

lets say you had really, really good mmr. like you being silver 3 and playing with gold 3, it wouldn't be fair to only gain 10 and lose 10 since you are facing much harder players than the rank you are at. the system is fairly good in this way.

I disagree. I believe MMR should exist, to place you with people of equivalent skill to yours. But I believe W/L shouldn't matter or have anything to do with MMR. The way I look at it, if you're winning more than you're losing you deserve to be rewarded. It is immediately noticeably unfair on the surface when you can see someone with a W/L ration of 5:1 not progressing. I'm sick of being in bronze, I almost made it out and then the new season started and put me back in fucking B5 when I was B2 previously and I won 7/10 placement games. Why at least can't our MMR be reset each season as well then? If I can be rated 'S+ - B' in 95% of the games I play, why am I being punished so much with points? How can it even be a thing to allow you to lose more points than you gain? Static points would solve issues. Most of this system is completely arbitrary. I'd be happy if they simply got rid of promos entirely, but also made it so that you immediately become demoted if you lose a game that would put you on or below 0 LP. I cringe when I look at my account, see that I have about 20 more wins than losses but I haven't progressed at all. How does that motivate me to want to keep trying? Seriously just think of that fact: You can win twice as much as you lose, but still be considered 'bad' because of arbitrary reasons. This system is flawed and its pissing me off.

i can give you a few examples of why the system is good.

here is one: someone is winning all or almost every game. they will get more and more points for each win. otherwise, it's very slow.

for your case: you are playing vs people of a lower mmr than your rank. the system thinks you should go lower. when you lose vs the people who are under your rank, you are telling the system, "ya, they are still a bit too hard". when you win, the system will give you less points than a win since your opponents are too weak in mmr. to fix this, you would have to stay at your rank for long enough until the points even out, or climb (if you are climbing, the system will start to give you harder and harder players), or drop to where the system thinks you should be.

the lettering doesn't mean you should have won. you can get an S+ every game and not earn a win. doing well doesn't mean you did what was needed to win.

as for the reset, it was a bit harsh how riot had it, but if you belong higher, you will get higher with enough games.

If riot made this game to make sense EVERYONE would be Challenger and they can't have that. Once challenger you have a good chance to get paid and pretty sure Riot or who ever gives out the checks doesn't want more money out of their pockets. So they have this LP garbage thing where you win 1 game and lose the next- 1 step forward-2 steps back. RINSE AND REPEAT.
Riot wants people to take years to try to get out of low elos that way the longer you play this game the more chance they can get money with skins and champions etc etc.
You can check to see your MMR on sites ( LolKing- lolstarz etc)
Also whats up with low Divisions actually being BETTER than higher ones EX B3 is MUCH better with decent teammates but once you get to B1 OH GOD do they suck. Same thing with Silver the higher you go in the divisions the WORSE the players get o.O. Same thing with the promo series say it comes down to the final game is it me or does it seem like EVERYONE in the game are nothing more than Feeds,AFKS, or just toxic as shitt.
