you should probably have argument for why it should, and I know there is one, which is why the pick order is partially based on mmr
It's not partially based on MMR. It's random now and the only reason I have in mind is to help stop people from arguing so much. Half of my queues are literally nothing more than just a bunch of children bickering in champ select. It's ridiculous. So what? You get a role that you don't want to play, just play it for one match. BUT, NA will be NA.
One match is quite a long time now though. It's very understandable to not want to spend your next hour being completely useless or even hindering your team worse than if you were AFK.
