health armor and magic resist

in the way i understand this is that if a champ takes 100 physical damage and has 0 armor, he will loose 100 hp.

if said champ had 50 mr, he will still loose 100 hp. and if he had 50 armor, he will only loose 50 hp. is this right?

now lets say that the champ inflicting the 100 physical damage, has 25 armor pen/lethality when he stricks the champ with 50 armor, does the champ looses 75 hp?

can you also link your source so i can read more on it?

50 armour doesn't translate to 50% physical damage reduction.

The formulas are not super straightforward so I'll just link.

i read the link, it sais that the ideal armor value a champion should have is 100 points less than the hp. for example a champion with 500 hp shouldnt get any more hp until 400 armor was obtained.

i looked furthen into this and realized that sion for example, doesnt need any more health from items, runes or masteries to achieve an optimal equilibrium between resistances and hp. at level 18 with frozen heart and a iceborn gauntlet he has 322 armor and 1.8k hp. that gives him over 9.4k effective hp against physical damage.

if thats the case why does all builds in op.gg say that firecape and spirit visage is the way to go? when that only gives him 8.7k effective hp.

50 Armor increases your health against Physical Damage by 50%, meaning it takes 50% more physical damage to kill you. Therefore, 100 Armor is 50% Damage Reduction.

nice formula for resistances is 100/(100+armor or mr) that will show you the % damage you will take. EHealth formula is health/(resistance formula)
