Top lane roster

Hello;

I want to specialise in top lane and I came to the realisation that I need to be good with a few champions in order to take advantage of match ups. Also there are the times when my top choices might get banned or picked by someone ahead of me on dinamic q.

I am looking for a list of champs that will complement each other, fit well in most team comps and be good where the other champs aren't great.

For example: I have played Nasus, Malphite and Kayle. Malp is my go to. When I see my match up is ranged and the team needs a tank I choose Nasus. If the team already has enough tanks I go for Kayle.

I believe the selection is too shallow and I want to make it better. Please include with the champ the reasons why that would complement the roster.

Thanks for all the help!

Less jax and akali unless youre good at playing the assassin.

JarvanIV Maokai Skarner Yorick What OP is looking for is essentially "CC bruisers" So including trundle and poppy, the four ive suggested make up a roster of 6 potentially powerful full tank/bruisers that work super well.

i definietly agree with this guy. if you play a typical top laner, as in non-assassin like paroe says, you can def outdo in team fights and still be useful if behind.

but at the same time, as a jax player, im just gonna build percentage health damage and tenacity so i can get rid of back line first. then ill come for yo ass. haha
