another help me get out of bronze post

Hey, I have been playing ranked pvp style games for over 10 years, but only started playing LOL about 2 months ago. LOL with all its apparent simplicity and unbelievable depth has got me puzzled.

I have always believed that creating teams and playing with the same ppl was the only way to climb, but I have been led to believe by videos/posts/guides that it is possible to solo-q out of bronze. However, the more I think about it and play matches the more this believe gets challenged.

I have gone from negatively impacting the team to being a positive impact, through ganking/roaming, ensuring I lvl up with everyone else and that my gold is up to par. I by no means carry the team, but regardless of how good I may do in a match there is always one person, at least, that is so super toxic and begins to feed/gg/give up super early.

Here are my questions:

  1. Is climbing out of bronze through solo-q a real thing?
  2. In order for me to do that, do I have to carry the team?
  3. Should I just mute the weakest link on the team or try to help them?
  4. How I can be most useful without having my performance fall?

BTW, I usually play jung/top with volibear, amumu or malphite.

Thanks!

Bronze is very frustrating. I feel as if it is almost a game of luck. I was on a 5 game win streak, omw to Bronze 3. I lost, still played good, 0/3/14 on a support isn't too bad, but my team couldn't follow up. Then the next game mid laner says in /all "Free kills mid" and proceeded to win. Now I'm in bronze 5. And don't even get me started on Shaco support... So many trolls it's disgusting.

I have a suggestion for you dude, if you happen to read this. I climbed out of Bronze myself, thanks to five rules.

  1. Mute everyone. Every game. Even if they are nice in champ select, you need to block it all out. Resist the urge to advise teammates on builds or play, it often causes more drama than the benefit it results in. Anything you need to communicate can be done via pings.

  2. Be greedy. They won't give you blue? Steal it. If you jungle, don't be afraid to tax. They will rage, maybe, but you have them muted. You can't rely on teammates as a solo queuer. You will make better use of that blue and that farm than they will. Obviously don't do this if you are feeding, but you need to trust yourself to make better use in most cases.

  3. I'm not saying you can't carry on Amumu or Malphite. You can, even in Bronze. It's just so hit or miss. You will have the most success with champions that can 100-0 enemy carries when ahead. Volibear can't do that usually, but he is strong in other areas and as such a good pick.

  4. Unlock your camera. Don't just set a hotkey and unlock/lock it. It's too easy to get lazy about it and your map awareness will improve.

  5. Set a quickcast, quickcast with indicator, selfcast hotkey, and attack move hotkey. You will need all of these. Selfcast for clutch shields/heals while doing other things with mouse, quickcast for most of the time, and quickcast with indicator for tricky shots or new champs you don't know the ranges on yet. Attack move will save your butt very often.

Some of these might seem hard, or counterintuitive, especially the one about greed, but trust me, these work. Good luck to you dude.

i have had to climb out of bronze 3 times.

but honestly... i don't really see a point anymore

ranked it meaningless now.

i have faced a plat player who i can EASILY tell was much worse than me.. and yet i have for a fact that even on my main and when i'm playing my VERY best i would only be silver 1 or gold 5.

ranked is meaningless now..

so in all honestly don't bother trying. your just going to stress yourself out

but to answer your questions..

  1. Is climbing out of bronze through solo-q a real thing?

yes, it certainly was.. and its still possible in dynamic que, but it will take MUCH longer than it did in solo que

  1. In order for me to do that, do I have to carry the team?

as much as i would like to say otherwise.. the answer is yes

  1. Should I just mute the weakest link on the team or try to help them?

try to help them, if they wont accept help, then just ignore them. but try to keep them un-muted unless it becomes REALLY annoying, muting them will only make things worse, and the responses from other teammates to the muted players can easily distract you and make you try to imagine what they said and you lose your focus on the game itself. if you can see what they write, you can easily pass what they wrote off as stupid, and turn your attention back to the game.

but also keep in mind like i said in number 2,, your ARE going to need to carry the game... so try to to spend TOO much time typing to them because it means your standing still and not carrying

  1. How I can be most useful without having my performance fall?

like i said. right now ranked is meaning less, your performance with rise and fall regardless of how well you play because they teams will be absurdly uneven.

and unless you are MUCH better than the rank you are in and can carry alone, the match will most likely decided during champ select.

as for your champs Volibear can carry the easiest out of those champs.

Amumu and Malphite are good engagers, but for the most part they rely on your teammate to follow up after your initiation in a team fight, unless your absurdly fed at least.

volibear can do much more alone even if your team doesn't follow up,, and because you flip them backwards, your team will be much more likely to engage on that target because they will feel they have the numbers advantage.. where as if you go with mumu or mal lower lvl players are much more likely to hesitate to engage with you

Your first season you will most likely not have to deal with bronze unless you have terrible luck in placements. You will get dropped every subsequent season though further and further down the sewer lol.

Nobody can carry a game alone. If your team mates wanna lose you will lose does not matter how good you are. But of course you can improve yourself. That means you have to learn to buy the right items in special situations. For example if the opponents have only attack damage and you are a tank then you dont need magic resistance. And you should learn to make the maximum gold. So you have to train the last hitting on cs. Besides you should always check the map. You should constantly ward and you should play all type of champions to learn their role. For example if you play jungler you learn how a jungler thinks which ways he goes and so on. You learn the strengths and the weaknesses of the champions. So you become a better player. But as I said if your team mates wanna lose you will lose. And if you are the best player in this world with the best champion.

What you also can do is to learn scripting with Autohotkey. I think it is allowed by Riot. So you can learn programming. It will improve your reactiontimes and your accuracy. I am convinced that the so called pro players use all scripts.
