If League of Legends wants to be taken more seriously as an esport/sport...

I and many others feel that crit should be removed. Crit is the main thing at the moment that is the difference between real sports and League. In real sports, there is a direct reaction for everything, where as crit is completely random and a gamble that makes things unfair, unrealistic, and random.

Competitive play should be about who can mechanically outplay their opponent, or who can have the best map presence, or which team can work better cohesively, not who gets the "lucky" crit changing the fate of the game. Luck is what it boils down to, and luck should not play such a huge role in League.

You say randomness is what seperates real sports from esports.

I guess a random rain storm during a football game doesn't count as random. I guess a fan reaching down to catch a fly ball before the player can doesn't count as random. I guess two boxers who clash heads and the fight is ended due a cut isn't random. I guess a race car driver's transmission blowing up and getting fluid over a track isn't random. I guess a naked fan running out onto a soccer field disrupting the game isn't random.

I could keep going...but hopefully you get the idea.

Dunno about this thesis. Have you seen a football bounce?

I'd be fine with reworking crit. I saw one proposal to rename the stat Precision, and have it be simply +X% damage on basic attacks. Same scaling functionality with less spikiness. This has upsides and downsides for gameplay.

Dota is a serious esport with a much higher prize pool than LoL.

One of its most common carries can randomly ignore damage from nukes, and one of its strongest initiators has a random stun.

Works as intended.

Because luck has never ever been a factor in a sport before...

Crit isn't random with my 100% Crit Fiddlesticks.

meh, as people have pointed out there is RNG chance in real sports. and the game is really determined by stratigy, wither you are behind or no.
