Disable Cross-Team Chat in Ranked.

As the majority of the community agrees, Ranked should be a serious environment for those who want to improve and climb the ELO ladder. This environment has been set up somewhat, with Ranked trolls being punished severely, however Cross-Team chatting still exists in this game mode. Why, in a serious competitive game should you be able to talk to the enemy team? This simply promotes toxicity, and trolling, and although some may argue it is fun to communicate over Cross-Team chat, isn't that what normal games are for? Im not saying ranked shouldn't be fun, however Cross-Team chat, and the consistent users of Cross-Team chat delude the sense of competition that is, or should be, associated with ranked games. Ranked should be for competitive people, not for people who would rather surrender at the twenty minute mark and talk in chat because they have already given up.

Cross team chat is fun for those who can handle it. It's quite rare to report members of the opposing team, actually. The vast majority of reports in this game are for teammates.

For those who can't, all chat is already off by default. You have to opt in to get it.

Cross team chat is need to say GG. Also it can be used if one team decides they can not come together and 4v5 and just want the game to end (pre 20)and move on.

Though i do agree in most cases people use it to abuse someone instead of the intended goal

One, you can block all-chat for yourself.

Two, my opponents are almost always more respectful and fun to talk to than my own team.

You can easily disable it yourself in the options.

I disagree. I enjoy bantering with my opponents, especially in top lane.

Me: "Hey Hey Udyr" Udyr: "What." Me: "Do you like butts?" Zoom bye with Sion ult Me: "Mine for example."

It seems like a reasonable idea. Most of the time I only use it for GG or Gl hf and don't say anything else to other team. There could easily be something put in that still lets you do that. Maybe its only available during the end screen and if you want to say gl hf there will just be a button to push. Although I doubt anything wil change about this for a long time as It isn't really that big an issue. Even if people frequently get mad and use it to rage at the other team learning how to not do that is actually an important part of getting better.

I agree with you, even if I'm sad that the following (actual thing that happened in a ranked game) wouldn't ever happen:

me: That xin jg's name is "invadeseverygame;" can we please invade? team: sure [we invade successfully] me [all]: more like me [all]: invadedeverygame
