Why not make Rageblade and Wit's End one item?

Title. They both now add magic damage on hit. Why not take away the double hit aspect on Rageblade item 3124 and replace it with the Wit's Enditem 3091 MR steal passive?

Or even better give it move speed on spell hit so it will truly be the AP opposite of Black Cleaveritem 3071 .

Right now Wit's End just doubles up on every stat you would have already built another item for, but at the same time it's defensive properties are a great deal weaker than Mercury Scimitar or Maw. Making it a primarily bruiser style hybrid item mixed with Rageblade would solve some of that problem.

P.S. are we ever going to get "Trap Detection" on SR? item 3185

Because nobody utilizes the shred except WW, Azir, Kayle, Kog, and Teemo.

Wit's was a better item before it had the shred added from Malady, if that tells you anything.

Worthless passive to the majority of champions that would ever consider buying Wit's End. All it does is inflate the price for effectively no net benefit to them.

Also, its Rageblade and Wit's End are nowhere near the AP version of Black Cleaver. Abyssal Scepter was going to be reworked into that at one point, but it was shelved.

Another thing is how Rageblade is now trash on the majority of melees.

Right, but that's why I was suggesting it. Neither item is particularly appealing for most champions.

The shred, however, is at least insular in the sense that it benefits the damage that the item itself provides. On the champions who want that kind of affect pretty much all of them have some hybrid scalings even if they are partly AD and they are just adding AP scalings for some champions like Shyvana.

I'm not familiar with the old version of Wit's End though so I can't comment on that.

It used to cost 2000 gold and was a must-buy on any bruiser without significant AD scaling early game, but it fell off as the game went on, as it has very low slot efficiency.

Riot made the stacking MR steal the same amount from your target, upped the price, then kept upping the price and MR alternatively patch after patch, and wondered why nobody uses it after they upped the price by over 800 gold without a significant increase to its stats outside of the MR reduction, which nobody who consistently wanted the item outside of WW/Teemo could utilize decently.

The cost reduction and adding Nega to Wit's build will help it quite a bit.

Now it just needs 42 OnHit damage, attack speed, and base MR.

Then it would be perfect.
