Always surviving

So I play assasins and when ever I finish using my burst they always survive with 1 bar of hp . Even on lb. But not on zed. I normally play Kassadin and its getting pretty annoying. I use a build called Kassaninja, you use your w for the dmg. How do you fix this for him and everyone else?
