ARAM is unbalanced.

Riot Games the gamemode ARAM is really unbalanced and unhealthy, this happens to me a lot when i play ARAM

my team gets 4 melee champions and maybe 1 ranged champion, the enemy team gets 4 ranged champions like teemo, ashe, xerath, cassiopeia and volibear,

and our talon is afk since minute 1, its a 4v5 and we are mostly melee champs vs 4 ranged champs in aram, this happens way too often and afks and bots are way too common in aram, i get that its a gamemode where the champions are random but can you atleast give us ARAM normal draft so each team can ban 5 champs just like in summoners rift, i think this would make the gamemode more fun and healthy

and the game that i just played in ARAM lasted only for 8 minutes, 8 MINUTES, because my team had 1 afk and 4 melee champions vs 4 ranged champions!

ARAM isn’t suppose to be balanced honestly.

Are you saying that as Advisor Ralanr or is that just your personal opinion?

As a personal opinion. And please note that we mods do not represent Riot’s opinions on things like gameplay balance, we’re free to disagree and give opinions on the subject.

It needs tweaks every now and then. The most thing I hate about ARAM now is everyone running dark harvest. There are certain things that can kill a game mode entirely. This is coming from a person who has played 4000 games of ARAM . Another issue that is common is the amount of ARAM accounts which really kills the purpose of this game. I wish We Riot would give everyone all champions to ensure each team is randomized.

As for playing vs bots, you need to step up your game. I have never seen a bot in ARAM which leads me to believe you are inexperienced player @Reelix. You need to learn the game!

Dude, ARAM is literaly designed around being severely unbalanced. Thats the whole point.

Sometimes comps are ridiculous. I had games where the enemy team took the first tower at min 2/3 without even having a first blood, and no, nobody was afk. I get it "ARAM isn't supposed to be balanced", but why, just why did you give Nasus double stacks for instance if "you don't balance ARAM anymore". AP Nasus was fine and extremly obnoxious, now we have to face tank Nasus with 600+ stacks at 15 minutes. Why didn't they change Sona instead, with 70% winrate for more than 3 years ?

I only play in Abyss (ARAM/Poro) so I have seen those kinds of teams a lot. In my experience the four melee and one ranged is often very good team and results in a win. Of course some melee champions work better than others, but that is the case with the ranged champions too. So I disagree that four melee and one ranged is autoloss. Even five melee is not autoloss.

The afk Talon you describe is separate problem totally imo. I personally try to avoid having to play assassins because I always suck with them; ARAM is harsh environment for them imo and I kind of understand the afker Talon, but I will also report him for afk since I would never go afk unless there was a RL emergency (Medical, Fire, Natural disaster or the like).

Also; ARAM is Random mode, so of course it is unbalanced. That is one of the points of the mode; you have to play with what you got and do your best. Occasionally that best means weird build, weird team composition, furious weird fights and sometimes even winning with that weirdness. The fun stuff!

I don't play aram anymore but that's not riots fault. It's simply because of aram only accounts.

So whose fault is it again?

Its our fault?

Wait I am confused...

It’s nobody’s fault, how about that?

So you're saying businesses have not accountability? They have no responsibility? This isn't a 5v5 summoners Rift game, don't worry we won't report your account to be banned for saying something negative, thats what forums are for, speaking out about the game positive or negative.

It's those that only want what's op on aram. Yeah sure you might say it's riot's fault in the end, but people create aram accounts with specific champions in mind. I considered it myself at one point, but than i decided i didn't want to grind.

It's in a disgusting state atm. That's because every flaw in the game is "enhanched" in Aram.

I play a lot of ARAM as well but honestly, it will always be unbalanced. Anyone with stupid range poke is OP, anyone who has an ult that takes up most the lane is OP. Any team against Teemo has to spend extra gold on oracles instead of damage. Dark Harvest stacks faster because of more fighting and deaths. Ziggs takes out turrets too easily.

But here's the real question, how do you balance it? Some stacking champs have double stacks on ARAM (see Nasus) so why not make it so certain abilities are less useful on ARAM? Fiddle E bounces less? Ziggs satchel only works on half the amount vs turrets not the same as SR?

Is this even doable by Riot?

My record for shortest game in ARAM is 5 mins 46 seconds, happened last month. We didn't even have an stupid op team like some get but the enemy team just they had 2 afks at the start, one showed up but by then we had the inhib. It was so short I didn't even get any XP for it (it was my first win of the day and I got 400xp and that's it, like wth).

I get that Aram is supposed to be unbalanced, and that there will be times when you're gonna get the losing side. In that aspect, the mode would actually be fair. Ie: that you can't win or lose them all. But what brought me to this page in the first place, is that 9 times out of 10, I get strapped with the losing comp. I don't know if it has to do with my level, or even if you level has anything to do with the match up of actual players. But from other forums I have read has said, the champs you get should be based on the champs you own, what your team mates own, and what's happening in the Free Champion Rotation. I just finished a match where I got a champ I knew nothing about, and I needed my first win, so I wasn't gonna chance learning this guy on the fly. So I rerolled, and got an equally unknown champ. He was not in the rotation, no one else on my team wanted him, and even during the match one player asked if he was the only one here who didn't know how use his champ? Of course, only one of us did. And with the majority of matches having that same if not similar scenario, I feel that it's safe to assume that in Aram you'll either be placed on the winning side or the losing side. My question is, why does it feel like certain people are singled out to always be on that losing side? Not for lack of ability to learn the champs as you go, but for not being able to because you spend the bulk of the match dead.

Aram is more emphasis on item compositions and item builds rather than the champions. Also, it emphasizes teamfights and adaptation. There is more skill in the mode than people realize, and some of that skill requires a ton of knowledge.
