What did RGM die for?

They said they were removing it to "focus on new RGM game modes", so far we have yet to have even one new game mode since then and it's been like half a year. Heck, I'd even argue things were going faster when RGM was active. And before anyone says "Nexus Blitz", as far as I'm aware the RGM team and permanent game modes team are separate teams. So that begs the question: what did RGM die for!?!
