An Idea for Matchmaking Rank

Rank Drafting-- a plausible idea for eliminating autofill

Since its obvious that this could increase matchmaking time, why bother?

Well I think we're already losing time.

Between dodges over autofill and wait timers for avoiding bad team comps we are already waiting for matches. Not to mention, those times you get a filled player who says nothing and does super poorly already feels like a whole match of wasted time and lp.

So here's the idea-- and it'll require a few extra menus lol --- But lets say you want to play rank. You select solo/duo. From here would be a few match making options

Enter Draft-- From here you select your preferred position. Fill is an option. After picking a position you're prompted to pick a champion to display as your intended pick. Q up and wait to get matched

You go into a waiting screen until you're matched into a lobby

Create Draft-- if you want to duo here's where you invite a friend. You both pick your positions and then click search.

Players who entered draft are then displayed by their position and intended pick. I was thinking of a web of multiple players on display (minus their summoner names, only position and intended champ pick)

For the sake of expediency, once a player is selected they can't be unselected. Also, after options of players are displayed, a count down timer begins. If players aren't selected by the end of the timer, Riot will do it for you and prioritize fill players to your draft. Once the team is rounded up you go into Q and its a normal lobby with pick bans etc.
