Diana gameplay update
Goals: Give Diana a way to effectively gank pre-6, give Diana an escape that can be sacrificed for some extra dueling power, give Diana a stronger resonance to her theme of being chosen of the moon, give a meaningful reason to max E earlier, intended as an overall buff.
E update: Casting E causes Diana to throw her moonblade in a line up to 700 units range, dealing damage equal to half of her passive "moonsilver blade" to all enemies struck. When the moonblade reaches the end of its path it sticks into the ground and radiates a small gravity field(like the moon does to Earth), causing champions within a 450 unit radius to be gently pulled towards it. Lasts up to 8 seconds. Touching the blade, pressing E a second time (after a short cook time), or waiting out the 8 seconds will activate the current effect pulling in and slowing all enemies hit.
- What we're keeping from E: The attack speed scaling buff from her current E. The actual effect of current E which are now activated in a different way. The long-ass cooldown, which doesn't start until after the second cast of new E.
- This "vacuum" cc effect is a special kind of cc field in that it doesn't disrupt channels, spellshields, or dashes, just slightly pulls in enemies at a slow speed. It doesn't technically slow enemies, but the gentle redirection can look like it slows them down if they're running away from it.
- Diana gains a small movespeed boost in the area of the gravity well if she's moving towards the moonblade. If Diana walks over the blade or ults to it, she triggers the effect of her current E followed immediately by a flourish of the moonblade for half of her passive's damage in a circle around her.
Complimentary Adjustments
- Base stat adjustment: Attack range changed from 150 to 125 without moonblade and 150 with moonblade. Goal here is to give her a slight noticeable power difference when she has her blade compared to when she doesn't.
- R adjustment: Diana can cast R to dash to the moonblade and pick it up following the E paradigm above. R will reset without clearing moonsilver debuffed targets allowing for Diana to setup a leapfrog hop onto enemies with the Q adjustment below.
- Q adjustment: Q casts from Diana when she's holding the moonsilver blade. When the blade is in the ground, Diana's Q is cast from it instead of herself. Goal here is to give Diana a means of effectively setting up a "leapfrog" double dash to close gaps and dive giving her the agency to set herself up for an assasination. The trade off here becomes she loses her escape.
- Passive Adjustment: When Diana does not have the moonblade, her passive becomes single target and only affects the unit she is attacking.
What do you guys think? I think this would be a positive direction overall for our lunar heretic, the numbers could always use fine tuning though.
