There are a lot of things players seem to be dissatisfied with right now:

Lack of meaningful champion diversity
Vanishing strategic macro play
Paper thin turrets
Mobility creep
Damage being WAY TOO DAMN HIGH

Whatever it may be, If you aren't happy with the game stop buying skins. Give Riot, a company that exists to make money, a reason to care about upsetting their player base in a metric that they can actually notice. There's no need to dramatically uninstall and stop playing forever, if you still like the occasional game you should play it!

Stop buying new skins for champions you will never use because they will cease to exist in a chaotically unfocused meta. How many skins do you own right now for champions you can never viably use? The answer is probably too many.

Hit their bottom line, maybe then you'll actually make a difference.

Fun fact: Riot is a global company. Even if NA shuts down, the EUW and Asia servers are more than enough to keep them profitable.

"Vote with your wallet" approaches always make the same critical flaw: They assume you're always buying things when you're happy.

People can be happy with League and unable to buy RP due to an number of reasons. They may not have a credit card (younger players), they may be spending their money to buy other games (they can still play this for free without cosmetics), they might have to spend money on dates, they might have to save money for college, they might have to save money for car repairs, etc, etc, etc. That's not even including things Riot could influence, like there's no new skin for a champion that they like to play, or none of the new skins are appealing to them, or they're waiting for a skin to go on sale.

Think about how long you go between buying RP. Unless you just throw every dime Riot's way, chances are you end up waiting at least a month, probably two or three months, between buying RP. Factor that in with any one of the above situations, and you could easily go a year without buying RP before Riot even notices you.

No, the metric that Riot pays much closer attention to is if you're actually playing the game. Playing League of Legends is effected by two things: your free time, and your interest in League. That's it.

Riot expects a short drop if a new AAA game comes out. After all, new games are interesting, why shouldn't people check them out? If you don't play and there's no new AAA game, then the stats guys start to notice.

So long as you're playing Riot will continue to think they're doing alright, and if they think they're doing alright nothing will change.

I actually stopped buying about 2 years ago, when the game became 100% about competitive play, because I personally prefer playing the game over watching it. Focusing solely on competitive forces Riot to keep RGMs vaulted, and has left TT an outdated dumpster fire.

Reworks that completely changed champions I loved prior pretty much made a lot of my skins worthless(Eve, Zac, Shen, etc), so I'm glad that I stopped purchasing when I did. The only thing that could reel me back in is if Riot would open up all of the custom games year round, and let us decide what and when we want to play, SC2 Arcade style. LoL and the entire genre was born from custom games, and the biggest game in that genre vaults custom games. I just can't get behind that.

As a consumer, you have to convince me your product is good, and will continue to be good. This has not happened.

I have been recently. Really want to get a Trundle skin, Pool Party Zoe, and the Akali skins when the bundle comes out but I just refuse to give Riot money while the game is in its current state. I did buy DS Cho tho because its for charity.

Thing is though, this game's art department is one of the few absolutely amazing divisions of this game, and that shows up the most with skins. It'd be a shame for them to suffer because of everyone else.

Well this one isn't exactly my fault, I do not like Singed. Like many others, he can basically just run around whilst farting on you as you chase him. But one day when I was scrolling through all the skins I owned, I noticed that I had a Singed skin. And now I'm all like wtf? Because, well, I never play Singed. Fuck I don't even remember getting that skin.

No joke, the only reason that I've continued to play the game every once in a while to scratch the itch of that game I use to love, but no longer exists, is because I've only ever spent like $50 on the game (and that's between my second account), but own all the champions and I'm sitting on like 60k essence.

But even that $50 I wish I could get back, if I had known that riot would end up removing the only champion that I ever bought skins for and make him into something that is an unenjoyable shit show. Malzahar
