Locked player tips for playing Unlocked

Alright let me say this I am in NO WAY a skilled player I am probably currently below average but I'm improving. I main teemo and tristana and I honestly never have had a problem with my camera I play locked constantly and I communicate with my team to know what's going on in other lanes but whenever I do a PUG there's every now and again that one asshat who barates me for using it I've tried unlocked cam but it honestly hinders me more even purple I play find with locked cam. I ward constantly and always check the map (habit I picked up from Battlefield and CoD UAV) so it's not like I wouldn't know where and enemy is unless they are in the fog of war that I can't see right now but i still get shit on for it. Any advice on starting to use unlocked?

Just stop using locked. Seriously. It's like when you were deaf your whole life and can suddenly hear. You just have to stop signing and start listening.

There's a semi-locked mode you could toggle to. It doesn't let you scroll away from your character too far, but you can shift the screen around to see further in other directions.

Alternatively (I can't remember if this is a default hotkey or not), you could hit spacebar to re-lock/re-semi-lock your camera and go to unlocked by default. That's what I use, looking down screen a lot (I play a lot of long range champions) and hitting spacebar if I start to loose myself in a teamfight or start taking damage.
