How does ''20 armor pen'' work as opposed to %?

Such as lord dom 45% ignore of bonus armor

But how does ghostblade work? Or even duskblade

Im talking Flat numbers not percentages. 20/10

i dont get how this is difficult to understand.

someone has 100 armor. you have 20 armor pen. you deal damage to him as if he had 80 armor.

May sound stupid. But thought that 10 stood for a percentage. Also does lord dom kick in before ghostblade or does it take 20 away then 45%

% shred and penetration is applied before flat penetration. means its efficient to stack both.

one thing a lot of people dont udnersand is % bonus armor penetration. every champion has a base value of armor and armor/lvl growth. (except thresh).

last whisper items dont affect that, but only armor from items, runes, masteries, and abilities.

How come Lucian benefits so much from the new armor pen build then? Honestly 20 armor pen from ghostblade and 10 from duskblade doesnt seem like a lot? 30 out of 120? Or is it that much

he also builds cleaver with it, which is 30% shred. his ult and passive allow him to apply the stacks really fast.

and you got armor pen runes/masteries with that.

so its more like something around 30% shred, 40 flat pen.

Pretty much what it says. Armor stacks up in a solid number, which through a formula reaches a certain percentage of damage reduction. So if someone has 100 armor they take 45% physical damage reduction.

When you get last whisper, it takes a percentage of your armor away. So someone with 100 armor only has 50 armor and only takes 25% armor reduction

Yommus blade and dusk blade and maw of malmortis are great items for assasins to use against squishies who have low armor.

Flat penetration ignores that specific amount of armor, if you get a ghostblade and hit someone with 50 armor you will be damaging them as if they only had 30 armor. If you also get a duskblade and now have 30 armor pen you will be damaging as if they only had 20 armor.

This is counted after percent pen.
