A nerf to the True Damage insta kill Cho'gath

"Stoneplate Tweaks We've got a couple of adjustments for Stoneplate coming in the next patch. The first is a bug fix regarding its interaction with Cinderhulk, where the combination of the two was giving noticeably more health than it was meant to. The second, which is still being tested, but likely to ship, is a change where the 100% extra health temporarily granted will be split between base and bonus health, rather than all be treated as bonus health. E.g. a champ with 1500 base health and 1000 bonus health would now get an extra 1500 base health and an extra 1000 bonus health, rather than 2500 bonus health. That impacts cases like Cho and Locket which scale off bonus health, so Stoneplate will likely still be a powerful combo with them but won't be giving as much power."

It's happened everyone. The interaction hasn't been removed, but it seems they're making it more reasonable. I think. Honestly I've been playing this game for four years and I'm still learning shit, so I don't know if this will make a strong difference to other items, apart from nerfing Cho'Gath feast and Locket shield.

I mean hell, 6 months ago I found out that Darius's E gave him Armor Pen. I didn't even know that. Hell! Two months ago I found out that Liandry has a stronger effect on CC'd champs, and that's why it would beautifully with Rylais!

i like that idea a lot, assuming it would happen. it wouldn't be too much of a wreckage but at the same time cho would be stripped a flat half of the power that stoneplate would give him ecspecially lategame. but then again, taking the numbers combined, 900 true damage wouldnt be that much of a difference compared to 1200 true damage or at least not for the poor guy whos dead because of it lmao.

still a strong nerf that doesnt gut him completely. i hope riot will consider and release that

It will actually probably kill Cho lategame. It's already hard enough for him to close the gap, and anyone with a slow will be able to kite him forever. Cho'gath is a juggernaut that should be able to do huge damage when he actually connects, and the small slow on his E isn't enough to make landing his Q consistent enough.

thats why rylais exists...it's actually one of the core items in a typical chogath Build. use his easier to hit W with rylais slow, then follow up with a Q, AA him with those Spikes a couple of times and ult.

ive yet to see a chogath go without rylais. ever

The typical Cho'gath build is Cinderhulk -> Righteous Glory -> Stoneplate -> Locket, then either Randuin's, Dead Man's, Abyssal Mask, or Warmog's.

Righteous Glory helps you connect, and locket helps you not die.

While I'm not sure if this is still the case, attack speed slows (i.e. Frozen Heart) would previously amplify the damage dealt by Liandry's Torment's passive too.

This would be because attack speed slows are considered the same as movement speed slows for various effects (i.e. Master Yi's Highlander).

The interaction has existed since the entirety of Stoneplate's existence. Before the buff to Cho E, Stoneplate + Cho R was basically considered a meme, because that was all that Cho was capable of doing in a teamfight; since his Q is really easy to dodge and he has no way to gapclose.

You say kite I say I see a cho with ghost/flash, dead mans stoneplate and RG a 1.5-2k true dmg ult have fun kiteing flash ult for your entire hp bar :/

then continues to knock people up and generally use his large hitbox to block any spells he can while stoneplate is active and his black life if competent goes in very very hard.

My main problem is this kinda shit is why guardian angle hourglass are mandatory.
