Why Is Ryze Being Nerfed?

Why the hell is Ryze being nerfed, even at a 45% winrate Riot decided to nerf him but they're too scared to go through with the Syndra Q nerfs, i'm really upset over this, Syndras W change is barely a nerf and wasn't even the start of her problem, Ryze however, a champion who most don't even perform well on, will seemingly be getting nerfed without a second thought

Azir had a 43% win rate in S6 and they still nerfed him. The reason is because Ryze is a champion without a skill cap, meaning that if you're really good, Ryze becomes an unstoppable monster truck of pain and salt. He does an enormous amount of damage with point and click CC, huge waveclear and an ultimate that makes Tahm Kench and TF blush.

I think he's one of the most well designed champions in the game, right now, but his power factor is just beyond amazing.

When the majority CANT play him they nerf him but when 80% of Yasuos do well in game he remains untouched, it's honestly so sad, first they overnerfed Taliyah now they're nerfing Ryze, he has counterplay, people just need to learn it

He will be perma'd in LCS if they don't, dude. We already have little variety there as it is.

So is Jhin Cait Ezreal and Ashe but they're not getting nerfed, Victor Ori and Sol are staying the same, no nerfs to Gnar Rumble Jayce or Kennen, jg was looked at finally, just baffles me why they look at Ryze when Syndra did so much better and she got her nerfs reverted

I agree. Just look at Worlds. Faker had a 100% win rate with Ryze. Think about that. In a tournament of the best players in the world, Faker was able to win every single game he played with Ryze. He was pick-ban the whole tournament.

@Leo1024 And the thing about Yasuo is that Riot doesn't think he's overpowered because everyone who plays him plays like an absolute animal. He's such a strong champion that it's almost impossible not to feel like you can 1v5, and sometimes you CAN. Riven in the early days used to be so busted that she was the same category. She just had to much value to her kit that it was almost impossible not to feel like you could destroy the world with her.

This "animal" mentality is what artificially brings winrates down and makes stats look lower than they really are. I played the very first game I've ever played as Yasuo the other day and I legit did nothing but faceroll and I got a triple kill on tanks. You can essentially play him with nothing but his Q and auto attacks and he'll out DPS pretty much any champion in the game. And with a Bloodthirster, you're almost as unkillable.

because he's low counterplay burst DPS and a good ryze wins singlehandedly
