How does demotion works in Ranked ?

After I got promoted in Gold 4 I started with 0 points, unfortunately I lost 5 games in a row without winning a single one and haven't been demoted so far. Just wondering, how does the system work ?

I've never seen anyone be demoted without gaining LP and then losing back down to 0. I think there's a grace period when you first get to a rank that prevents you from demoting for the reason of back in the old ELO system, you could jump between, say, silver and gold if you win a game then lose a game for a while. That was one of the biggest reasons why Riot replaced it with the Leagues system.

I've heard you can lose a ton and not get demoted. actual number of losses idk. You are probably getting close XD

The number of games definitely depends but I don't know te system.

I have had times where I lost a ton of games without demotion and also where I lost 1 and got demoted. Probably MMR based though .

It depends on your MMR, but usually I get worried after 3 losses at 0 after just getting promoted -- though I've personally had as many as 6 losses at 0 and been fine, the 3rd is where I've typically been demoted.

Depends on how low your MMR is compared to your rank, I've lost 7 games at 0 LP and not been demoted and other times I've been demoted after losing 1 game at 0 LP.
