The worst champion design of all time.

DISCLAIMER: This post involves both balance, gameplay and story, so i didn't know where to put it.

Fiora. This champion's design is so horrible that i had to look up David "Volty" Abeassis's page on lolwiki to assure myself that he made ok champions too.

So, let's get started.

• What are the positivities of Fiora?

With all honesty, and i seriously dont want to be mean, i have no idea. Maybe it's a connectivity for anime fans because Blade Waltz is similar to that. But please, and i'm seriously asking, tell me what is good or interesting about her, because i want to know.

And with that out of the way, let's get to the fun stuff.

• Why isn't Fiora interesing?

She uses a sword. She's a duelist, yeah, but using a fancy sword doesn't make it more interesting. Also, she doesn't use wind magic or wuju like Master Yi or Yasuo, so we have to admit: Fiora has limits in term of abilities and such. The champion does not involve any kind of fantasy elements and that makes it incredibly uninteresting.

• Lore.

Sigh

So, if we read the lore of fiora, we learn that her father was considered to be a great duelist and he preserved a good picture of the family. But one day some guy noticed that his father slipped some paralysis poison into his opponent's drink. After that, Fiora dueled him for some reason, and she won. She demanded the control of her house, and now she searches for the best duelist in valoran, to defeat him/her.

Now, compare this to trundle's old lore. See the difference?

The main problem with this role is that Fiora is not involved in ANY cause. It's like the writers finished the story with the "getting the house" thing and then realized that in that way this champion would make no sense, so they slapped something onto the end of it. The lore is not interesting because we don't care. She is in no relation to other champions, and just wants to defeat the best dueler. Whoopty doo.

Other lores just for comparison:

Azir: Wants revenge on xerath for destroying his kingdom and killing his family. Previously they were kind of friends, but xerath decided that things should go a bit more his way. Awesome story. It's likeable, and there is no actual bad or good, because Azir is a bit arrogant, and Xerath is kind of likeable because who would not want infinite power.

Zilean: Almost perfect lore. It shows that if you're obsessed a bit too much with something, it will lead to terrible things. Also it involves THE RUNE WAR which is quite an interesting event that i want to hear more about.

Yorick: Excellent and interesting story. There must always be a gravedigger.

Janna: Perfect. A lonely girl growing up and learning about the harsh, cruel world around her. And when she's ready, she shall take her powers, and bring justice and happiness to the weakened world. One of the best stories out there. Also a good female character that is not reduced to an state.

• Personality.

Every champion is supposed to have a breathing, living personality, like taste, opinions, choice of words, manners and such. I like characters that you can understand and identify with. I personally like the introvert, silent guys like Nautilus or Galio, but i like the destructive, bloodhungry characters too, like Sion or Aatroxx. And although i dont like them, i can understand the people who like Riven, Katarina or Leblanc. But i cannot understand the people who like fiora as a person. Judging by her poorly written lore, she should be a woman who is honest, smart, but also likes to fight and knows her opportunities and limits. But the incredibly annoying voice of hers and what she says with that voice suggests that she is a smug, selfish, cocky person. And not in the Tristana way, where she's playfully and funnily cocky, but in the cold, disgusting way.

• Gameplay.

Fiora in itself is a pretty bad champion, no burst damage, not much mobility, and zero cc. And she's not even tanky or well, not supposed to be.

But give her a first blood and the gates of hell shall open. Fiora is arguably the most snowbally champion in the game, and with one kill, she goes crazy and kills everyone. When you search the definition of "imbalance", there is a picture of Fiora taped next to it. And by imbalance, i dont say she's overpowered. It would just be a better idea to tone down a bit on the snowball parts and help her be a decent champion in herself.

• Conclusion.

I hate Fiora, but there is something that i hate even more, and it's bad design. She needs a total rework ASAP.

TL;DR: There was a guy who was browsing the NA boards, and he saw something interesting, so he decided to take look at the thread, but then he decided that he should be a lazy bastard and didn't read the whole thread. Then he started doing drugs, became homeless and died on the cold streets. The end.
